INTRODUCTION

Pre-School Academics is an innovative approach for the holistic development of toddlers. The Daily Time Table is programmed in such a way that children can have exposure to wide range of subjects. We have incorporated thematic learning to the child’s monthly schedule. This integrated thematic learning binds all skills into a single strand making it more comprehensive and concrete to the budding minds. We take up a theme every month, which is a relevant concept, be it a festival, nature, society etc. and incorporate the same in different skill developments.

WHOLE DAY PROGRAM

What would my child do on any given day in Royal Global School?

This is what a typical day in Royal Global school looks like……

  • The children walk into the class and keep the bags and water bottle in proper place. They are greeted by the class teacher .Thereafter; they take out their diaries and place them on Teacher’s table.
  • After the prayer and morning conditioning, they settle down on the mat in the activity room and have circle time.

We at RGS plan the day in the following way:-

Morning assembly:

The school prayer and Gayatri mantra is recited. Moral values are taught to the children. Sometimes special assemblies are done where the children get together to recite the Morning Prayer, sing songs and perform a dance or action songs, showcasing what they have learnt during the month. Parents are also welcome to attend these assemblies.

Circle time:

This time is used to encourage children to learn to speak up in the class, to give each other a chance to be patient listeners, to respect each other’s views and opinions and to wait for their turn. Various issues related to the class are tackled during circle time.

Reading/writing skills in English:

As we all know that all words are made up of sounds. Twenty six letters are used to represent these sounds. For reading and writing the children need to be fluent at saying the sounds that go with the letters. Therefore, when children come to UKG, we start with reinforcement of letter sounds and letter formation. Thereafter, we move on to introduction of two letter words and three letter words with vowel sounds a, e ,i ,o ,u. Teaching of sight words and reading is also done simultaneously. This enables them to develop their reading, writing and communication skills.

Numerical skills:

This skill is developed to enhance the logical thinking, numerical ability, differentiation, sorting and analytical thinking which can be related to our daily lives. Pre-number concepts, shapes, numbers, number names, ordinal numbers , before -after –between numbers, missing numbers, reverse counting, addition and subtraction, concept of time and number names.

Lunch time:

Healthy and nutritious food is provided to the children along with a glass of healthy drink every day. The children here are also trained in the ways of perfect eating habits, etiquettes and table manners. Mothers can smile now as they can fully rely on us for the healthy and nutritious lunch provided by the school.

Activity (either games. Swimming, music, art & craft, dance, storytelling session):

This skill is to enhance the child’s gross and fine motor skills, creativity, social skills, listening and communication skills.

Rhyme time:

To enhance the child’s communication skills and to increase the vocabulary skills and make the child more confident rhyme time session are conducted.

Reading /writing skills Hindi:

As we all know that all words are made up of Swars and Vyanjans. For reading and writing the children need to be fluent at saying the sounds that go with the letters. Therefore, when children come to UKG, we start with reinforcement of Swars and letter formation. Thereafter, we move on to introduction of Vyanjans. Teaching of sight words and reading is also done simultaneously. This enables them to develop their reading, writing and communication skills.

My time (where the children can do and plays things that they like). To enable the child to be more creative and social and also to improve their self-esteem, this session is conducted and they are appreciated for their good work.

Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write and count. Childhood is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace which is right for each individual child.

At Royal Global School we aim at overall development of the child – mentally, physically, socially and emotionally. Utmost care is taken to make the child confident and independent to face the challenges of the world.
