"Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the Endeavour always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence". - Maria Montessori

The early years of education lays the foundation for lifelong learning and influences later development and learning of young children. Quality experiences in the early years have been found to make a difference in the future learning of children. Children are naturally curious, active and competent learners. Based on this fact, the curriculum framework for our children at Royal Global School aims to build the foundation to achieve the outcomes of education by helping them to acquire knowledge and skills through the six learning areas as well as positive disposition towards learning. According to the educational needs of today, as summed up by Maria Montessori, "Scientific observation then has established that education is not what the teacher gives, education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences upon the environment.

CURRICULUM

The day to day curriculum of the Primary Section includes learning in the form of Text Books followed by inputs in General Knowledge, Value Education along with Activity classes in Music, Dance, Art, Computers, Sports and Yoga. Classes are of Forty Five minutes duration starting at 9 am and ending at 2.10pm. Special emphasis is given on broadening the child’s concept of wider knowledge besides that of text books.

METHODOLOGY

Teachers do their best to impart as much ideas and knowledge to the students in various fields. During the course of teaching, students are encouraged to inter-act with the teachers in topics beyond text books. The Administration has introduced monthly assessment for Primary students upto the third standard, which has borne positive results. It is helping students to be thorough in learning thus reducing the pressure of preparing too many lessons at a time. Preparation of charts and field trips related to the texts is a part of the curriculum.

MOTIVES AND AIMS

The primary curriculum aims to provide a broad learning experience and encourages a rich variety of approaches to teaching and learning to cater to the needs of every child. It is designed to nurture the child in all dimensions of his/her life--- spiritual, moral, educational, social, imaginative and physical. The Royal Global School is putting its best efforts to pursue the above and also to fulfill the following points:-

  • Develop each child’s potential to the fullest.
  • Encourage andinstill a love for learning.
  • To help children develop skills which they may use all their lives.

SPECIAL FEATURES

MOTHER TEACHER CONCEPT

For the upliftment and improvement of the students, the school has introduced a “ Mother Teacher” concept meaning One teacher is responsible for the students of One particular section of a class. The major advantage of this is that students respond well to one teacher --- the “Mother Teacher”, who is a substitute for the mother at home. The students build confidence in her and looks up to her as a “Godly” model, committed, caring, enthusiastic, prayerful and prepared to help them in every aspect. It is the duty of a “Mother Teacher” to make each child feel loved and special.
