“The Children need your presence more than your presents.”
The quote stands true for today’s generation where the demand for pizzas, toys, and movies comes with a single click of Swiggy, Amazon, and Netflix. The real challenge starts when we do not know which key on the remote would work best to put the control on 21st-century kids. And here’s when 21st-generation parents need a coach on parenting. To provide valuable insights and guidance to parents in Guwahati, the Royal Global School, Guwahati recently organized a parenting session targeting parents of children aged 3-8. The event featured Dr. Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi, a renowned content creator with an Instagram handle "GetSetParentwithPallavi," boasting a massive following of 7,000,000 on social media. The session aimed to delve into the A-Z of parenting, offering a comprehensive understanding of the impact of positive parenting on a child's psychology. Pallavi emphasized parents' pivotal role in shaping their children into well-rounded individuals. She highlighted how positive parenting not only fosters a healthier parent-child relationship but also lays the foundation for the child's future well-being. One of the key takeaways from Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi's session was the importance of aligning actions with words. She emphasized that children often emulate the behavior they witness, making it crucial for parents to embody positive values and actions. Furthermore, Pallavi stressed the significance of using positive language, as it subconsciously reinforces a child's sense of self-worth. The session concluded on an empowering note with Pallavi leading the parents through a series of affirmations and manifestation quotes. Parents repeated affirmations such as "I am a good parent; I will strive to improve every day," "I accept my child as they are," and "I am blessed to have my child just the way they are." Additionally, they pledged to maintain a sense of joy and playfulness, vowing to keep the child alive within themselves. Ms. Binita Jain, Vice Principal of the Royal Global School, addressed the gathering and reflected on the evolution of parenting over the past two decades. She urged parents to introspect, validate their methods, and break away from generational gap parenting. Ms. Jain emphasized the need for parents to adapt to the changing dynamics of parenting to better understand and connect with their children. The parenting session at the Royal Global School, enriched by Pallavi's insights and the school's commitment to nurturing holistic development, provided parents with practical tools to foster a positive and supportive environment for their children's growth. The event served as a valuable platform for parents to exchange ideas and experiences, contributing to the collective effort to raise happy and well-adjusted individuals.
