The 73rd Republic Day of this glorious nation was celebrated on 26 January at Royal Global School with patriotic fervour and zest among all.

Like all the years, the celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by our esteemed Chief Guests for the Occasion – Hon’ble Chairman, Dr. A.K Pansari, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) S.P Singh and our Vice Principal Ms. Binita Jain which was followed by the National Anthem. This was followed by a march past by the RGS contingent and the school band. A short speech was delivered by our Vice Principal Ma’am Ms. Binita Jain explaining the significance and importance of this very particular day and how the nation has overcome the pandemic situation.

A soulful song rendition and motivational dance performance created an energy and aura of patriotism. One of our tiny tots from UKG made us remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be an Indian through her short speech. The school campus was tastefully decorated with paintings showcasing our legendary freedom fighters and the program concluded with refreshments for all.

Like the previous years, this year too Royal Global School has observed Shilpi Divas on the 17th of January in the fond memory of Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala. Vice principal Ms. Binita Jain lit the lamp and the students garlanded the bust. Faculty member Mr. Prashanta Nath spoke a few words on the first legendary filmmaker of Assam. Ms. Gitarthi along with Mr. Prashanta Nath and the students sang a Jyotisangit.

The early morning drizzle delayed, but did not dampen the enthusiasm of the faculty members and students of Royal Global School to celebrate Bihu on 12th January in the Hostel Lawns. The programme started with a beautiful traditional Assamese song followed by a delightful dance performance by the students of RGS. Ms. Gitarthi Goswami along with other teachers conducted the proceedings of offering prayers and the Meji was lit by the Vice Principal, Ms. Binita Jain. Students gave short speeches on the significance of Magh Bihu. The program was brought to an end by the playing of the State Anthem.

National Youth Day is observed to honour the ideals and thoughts of Swamiji Vivekananda who had tremendous faith in youth. The day marks the birth anniversary of the social reformer, great thinker and philosopher, Swami Vivekananda.

The house members of Vivekananda house celebrated the event in school, lighting the sacred lamp and garlanding his statue.

The noble ideas and thoughts of Swamiji were highlighted in the ceremony by Swayam Agarwal and Namleen Sodhi. Vice Principal Ms. Binita Jain also spoke about the qualities of Swami Vivekananda which made him a great personality to behold, across generations to come.

The future leaders and office bearers of the cabinet of RGS were invested today in a solemn event. The Investiture Ceremony 2021-22 took place in the C Plaza of Royal Global School today keeping all the COVID protocols in mind. The cabinet members were presented with their sashes and badges and they took an oath to work with sincerity and dedication, to put the interest of the school before their own. The auspicious ceremony started off with a welcome song, followed by lighting of the lamp and then a dance performance. The cabinet marched to the beat of the band in their crisp and meticulous gait and took their positions. Donning their sash and badge, they took charge of their respective fields by holding the flags which was presented to them by the coordinators and the house masters and mistresses. The Head Boy and the Head Girl gave their ceremonial speeches which was befitting of the post they held. The program ended with the playing of the national anthem.

A Vaccination Drive was conducted today at Royal Global School wherein students between the age group of 15 to 18 years were administered the vaccine- COVAXIN. Mission Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Lakshman. SADC, Health, Dhruvbajyoti Hazarika and Pomi Baruah, OSD, NHM and DS Govt of Assam visited the school campus to ensure the smooth conduct of the drive.
