The Social Outreach Club of the Royal Global School- 'Utsarga' with its old and new members visited the adopted village at Nortap, Sonapur on World Menstrual Hygiene Day. The club has been initiating the " Bleed with Dignity" campaign every year to create awareness amongst the women of the Nortap village about menstrual hygiene. Students were highly motivated to spread awareness of the importance of good hygiene and use of sanitary pads which they did wonderfully. Awareness was spread with the help of charts, campaigning, and interaction with the local women in their native languages. Sanitary pads were distributed among them. The day ended with wonderful dance performances by the over-enthusiastic students of the L.P. school in colorful attires showcasing their talents. It was followed by the distribution of prizes and other eatables amongst them. The members returned with hearts full of love, gratitude, and great learning. The club undoubtedly aimed to instill in our children the values of respect, sharing, caring, empathy, and compassion. A day filled with learning left an indelible mark on the children's minds and the hope to visit again sooner.
The Shri Ram School students arrived at Royal Global School under the Round Square Exchange Programme with smiles and hopes of making many memories. They were greeted by our Principal, Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, and Vice Principal, Ms. Binita Jain. Our students welcomed them with tikas and Gamochas. They embarked on a walkthrough of the Social Science exhibition presented by the Royalites, followed by a tour of RGU and snacks at the RGU cafe with RGS teachers and hostellers. In the evening, a visit to Tirupati Balaji Temple was arranged, accompanied by RGS teachers, followed by dinner at the hostel mess.The next day began early with trekking and a bus ride to Bhimasankar Dham Jyotirlinga Temple. Afterward, guests returned to the hostel for a bath and breakfast before setting out. In the afternoon, they explored Panbazar, including the Mahabahu Brahmaputra Heritage Centre, River Front, and Lachit Ghat. The day concluded with dinner at the hostel. The second day of the RGSxTSRS Exchange Programme began early with guest students engaging in physical training. After breakfast, they attended the Investiture ceremony at the RGS Colosseum. By noon, they departed for Sualkuchi, visiting Sidheswari Temple and enjoying a traditional Bhog (lunch). The afternoon was spent exploring Sualkuchi’s cultural sites, including the Sualkuchi Institute, Sualkuchi Museum, Hati Satra, and Gandhi Ashram. The evening concluded with a Theatre Workshop and dinner at the hostel mess. The third day started even earlier. After breakfast, they left at 6 AM for Shillong and Cherrapunji for a short trip, enjoyed breakfast at Ri Kynjai Resort, and visited Laitlum Canyon. The day ended with dinner at the hotel. Another exciting day! On the fifth day of the RGSxTSRS Exchange Programme, the TSRS students stepped into classrooms with the Royalites, while escorting teachers took on the role of guest instructors in a few classes. After lunch, a lively Bihu workshop unfolded, introducing them to the festival's beauty and teaching its basic steps. To end the day, students embarked on home stays with their host families.
Royal Global School celebrated the remarkable achievements of its Grade X and XII academic performers for the year 2023-24 on May 27th. This prestigious ceremony was dedicated to honoring and celebrating the outstanding academic proficiency of the students. The school was privileged to host Dr. D. N. Singh, Registrar of Royal Global University, as the chief guest for the event. The occasion was further graced by the presence of Mr. Diganta Barah, Commissioner of Police. The awards were categorized into Subject Proficiency, Subject Excellence, Distinction, and Outstanding Academic Performance. The highest accolade, The Chairman’s Trophy, was awarded to the students who achieved the pinnacle of academic excellence. This year, Zaveri Tahsin and Vasu Vinod Chandak were honored with this prestigious award for Class 10 and 12, respectively. In his speech, the chief guest congratulated the achievers and inspired them to continually strive for excellence. The program concluded with the National Anthem and a heartfelt vote of thanks by the compère.
The Investiture Ceremony, a significant event, at Royal Global School was celebrated with a remarkable course of action on May 25th delegating responsibilities and duties of leadership to the school’s student governance. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms. Dipannita Jaiswal, Managing Director DY365, Principal Royal Global School, Vice Principal, and the members of the management. The program spurred up with the welcome speech by the hosts of the show, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting ritual. Students displayed a stupendous Ganesh Vandana and the All Faith Prayer. In his speech the Principal addressed the Assembly and emphasised on boosting up the responsibilities that comes with leadership. He also said that “Leadership is divine, and this divinity should be just and fair.” He added by saying that leadership is like a handful of water that should be used to quench the thirst of others. In his speech he urged the new council members to lead by example, maintain high standards of conduct and work diligently for the betterment of the school. After the Principal’s speech the newly elected cabinet member marched past the audience. The council then took their oath pledging to perform their duties. Ms. Dipannita Jaiswal, the chief guest of the occasion underlined the beauty of the time spent in school as the most memorable and rewarding for a student. She delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the significance of understanding the right time, place, and person, emphasizing the concepts of sthaan (place), kaal (time), and patra (person) and the significance it holds for students to display their life skills leading them towards success. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
The young students of Royal Global School celebrated the tithi of Shrimanta Madhav Dev in the Junior School Assembly. The young students enlightened the audience about the life and teachings of the saint who was an ardent follower of Shrimanta Shankar Dev who along with his Guru played a very poignant role in spreading the Mahapurushiya Dharma. In sync with the theme of the Assembly a budding dancer enchanted everyone with her graceful moves. Her nimble feet lighted up the stage as she performed the Satriya dance. Talent was in galore as a young student mesmerized everyone as he played the "khole" as his friends cheered for him through their rhythmic clapping.
On 23rd May, the middle wing of ROYAL GLOBAL SCHOOL held a grand Social Science exhibition, "NIPUN BHARAT," featuring students from classes VI to VIII with working models, projects, charts, and 3D models. The HISTORY section, "SAMAY YATRA," displayed a timeline from the Stone Ages to India's Independence. Sustainable Development warriors showcased the 17 Sustainable Development Goals with 3D models and PowerPoint presentations. The GEOGRAPHY section, "PRITHVI KA KRAMIC VIKASH," illustrated Earth's evolution from the Big Bang to India's physical features, including displays on the Coriolis force, Amul's evolution, and TISCO. The CIVICS section, "NAGARIK SHASTRA," highlighted India's diversity, the court system, election process, and advertisements' power. The exhibition, full of innovative ideas and projects, demonstrated the students' understanding and creativity under their teachers' guidance. The event, attracting a large audience, was a runaway success, impressing visitors with the students' diligent performances.
Amid the realm of primary education, where innocence and creativity abound, a remarkable event unfolded. This is the heartwarming tale of the Grade 1 Poem Recitation Competition and Come As You Like, where the themes of "Mother" and "Seasons" harmonized to showcase youthful ingenuity. The first graders took the spotlight with their enthusiasm and curiosity on full display. In the “Come as You Like” competition, the young participants brought the magic of changing seasons to life through their unique costumes, capturing the essence of each season with awe-inspiring talent and imagination. The Poem Recitation segment featured beautiful tribute to mothers, expressing gratitude, admiration, and unconditional love. The event served as a testament to the enduring bond between mother and child, interwoven with threads of love and laughter. Additionally, a panel of supportive judges presided over the competition with gentle encouragement and boundless admiration, wholeheartedly applauding each child’s efforts.
On the occasion of International Museum Day, students from the Department of History conducted an exhibition on the topic "Bricks, Stones, and Clay." The students enthusiastically displayed their work on various civilizations and cultures. It was a great hands-on learning experience. Throughout the event, the students gained a wealth of knowledge about the past and increased their confidence.
As part of our commitment to provide a comprehensive and holistic educational experience to our children, Royal Global School has developed inter-section competitions, where the children can learn through doing and observing. Through these competitions, we aim to nurture well-rounded individuals equipped to thrive in an ever-changing world. The first round of competitions for Grade 3 was 'English Poem Recitation' featuring the theme of "Spring" and 'Do As You Like’ featuring the theme of ‘The Community Helpers’ which was held on the 16th of May 2024, and was a NO BAG day for the children. Children eagerly participated in the competitions, showcasing their unique interpretations of both themes with passion and flair. It provided a platform for students to express their appreciation for the wonders of spring and the selfless efforts of community helpers, fostering a deeper understanding and empathy among them. Participants arrived at the competition hall adorned in costumes that celebrated the diverse array of community helpers; from firefighters to doctors, teachers to sanitation workers. It not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also fostered a love for poetry and public speaking among them.

“Healthy competition fuels innovation, drives progress, and leads to breakthroughs.” The first round of Inter-Section Competitions for the students of Grade 2 was held on the 13th of May at the Broadway. The four sections were divided into four groups. Two competitions were held simultaneously and they were carried out with perfect tandem. In the 'English Poem Recitation Competition’, the students recited the poems with expression and grace. The theme of the recitation competition was ‘Mother. In the 'Come As You Like’ the theme was ‘Community Helpers'. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and it was quite difficult for our judges to choose the winners as each one of them performed brilliantly. Competitions like these not only enhance their public speaking skills but also motivate and drive them to put forth their best effort.
Royal Global School hosted the much-anticipated Commerce Fest, a celebration of innovation, market plans, and entrepreneurship. In collaboration with DPS Guwahati, the event aimed to promote commerce and innovation. The program began with a Ganesh Vandana, seeking wisdom and prosperity. Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, Head of Royal Global School, emphasized innovation's importance in today's world. He encouraged attendees to embrace creativity and bright ideas for success. Dr. Panda praised participants and organizers for fostering an innovative culture. The event honored dignitaries and judges, including Dr. George, Mr. Rajeev Purkayastha, Professor Srawan Kr. Goenka, Dr. Sudeep Chakraborty, and Dr. Rikh Roy. IDEA PITCH showcased entrepreneurial skills, with contestants presenting innovative business plans. AD-MAD demonstrated creative marketing, engaging audiences with product offerings. A quiz session tested participants' knowledge and quick thinking. The winners were DPS Team 1 for AD-MAD, Royal Global School Team 3 for IDEA PITCH, and Royal Global School Team 3 again for revitalizing businesses. DPS Guwahati emerged victorious in the Business Quiz.The event concluded with participants leaving inspired and united, eager for future success.
On 8th May 2024, Grade XI and XII psychology students at Royal Global School engaged in an interactive session with Prof. (Dr.) Derick H. Lindquist, Dean, O.P. Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities and also Co-Director of E- Cog: The Emotion and Cognition Psychology Research Centre at JGU. Dilip Kumar Panda, Principal, and Binita Jain, Vice Principal, warmly welcomed him. The session commenced with an introduction to the esteemed speaker, followed by an engaging Question and Answer segment that set the tone for an insightful discussion. Dr. Lindquist introduced the concept of the Latin 'Cojito, ergo sum' translating to 'I think, therefore I am,' prompting contemplation on the reliability of our senses. He intriguingly illustrated how our senses are not infallible, citing the example of color perception, where what we perceive may not necessarily reflect physical reality. This led to an exploration of the constructed nature of reality and the role of cognition in shaping our perceptions. Transitioning into cognition, Dr. Lindquist elucidated the concept of 'dualism' highlighting the underlying belief that the human mind and the human body are two entirely separate entities. He delved into the workings of memory, distinguishing between sensory and working memory, and elucidating the consolidation process into long-term memory. The discussion progressed to meta-memory, offering insights into our awareness and control of cognitive processes. In the latter segment, Dr. Lindquist addressed various psychological disorders, shedding light on schizophrenia, unipolar, and bipolar disorders. He delineated the positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia, providing a nuanced understanding of the condition. Additionally, he discussed ADHD, elucidating its association with emotional intelligence and interpersonal dynamics, adding depth to the discourse. Overall, the session was characterized by profound insights and thought-provoking discussions, enriching the budding psychologists' understanding of the complexities of the human mind and behavior. Dr. Lindquist's expertise and engaging presentation captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impression on all Royalites.

The theme was India's Unity in Diversity. It was woven around culture, cuisine, costume and religion from any Indian state. The budding speakers chose a topic from the plethora of topics that were available. Seeing some of the speakers dressed in the traditional attire of the state they represented was a pleasant sight. These kinds of activities are done in the school to boost the confidence of the students and to enhance their public speaking skills.

" - George Bernard Shaw With the aim to nurture children's creativity and to celebrate a fun-filled learning activity, the students of Grade 4 of Royal Global School participated in the first series of Inter-section Competition, 'Come As You Like', where the august gathering was whisked away to the world of books as the students played the role of different book characters and enthralled the audience with their colourful attires. The Competition was graced by the presence of the esteemed judges Ms. Akshita Tiwari and Ms. Mridusmita Das. The young ones used the stage to hone and express their talents while delivering a few lines about their favourite book character. Harry Potter, Pied Piper, Cinderella, Robin Hood, Lord Rama, Spiderman, and Sherlock Holmes, the hall was transformed into a world of books, as the students captivated the gathering with their unlimited creativity and boundless imagination. The mesmerising show came to an end with everyone's efforts being appreciated. The best ones were lauded for their artistic flair and perfect showmanship by the judges. Their motivational words gave wings to the children's dreams and encouraged them to pursue their ambitions. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents.
On the auspicious occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, our school was enlightened with the spirit of cultural reverence as we celebrated the birth anniversary of the great polymath, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. The school premises were adorned with festive decorations, echoing the vibrance of Tagore’s multifaceted legacy. The celebration commenced with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding of Tagore’s statue, symbolizing our respect and admiration for his timeless contributions. Students paid homage through a speech on the life and works of Gurudev, a violin recital, a flute recital and a melodious Rabindra sangeet. The Rabindra Jayanti celebration was not only a tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore but also a reminder of the profound impact he had on literature, music, art, and education. Rabindra Jayanti is not just a day of celebration; it is an opportunity to ignite the flame of creativity, compassion, and cultural pride within our students. As we remember Gurudev, let us continue to inspire young minds to explore, create, and contribute to a better world.
On May 4th, 2024, Rajasthan Royals organized the Family Day Cricket Bash at the Royal Global School playground, inviting families, students, and staff of the school to participate. Sixteen teams, comprised of parents, students, and staff, competed enthusiastically throughout the event. In an exhilarating final match, Royal Knights emerged victorious, clinching the championship by a narrow margin of 4 runs against Royal Hostel. Ashok Talukdar from Royal Knights received the prestigious title of Player of the Tournament and the Pink Cap for scoring the highest runs. Recognizing outstanding performances, Ravi Verma and Banita Das were awarded the Purple Cap for securing the maximum wickets in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. The day was filled with camaraderie and spirited competition as parents, students, and staff wholeheartedly engaged in a series of fun and exciting cricket matches, creating memorable moments for all involved.
On 2nd May 2024, the students of Royal Global School of class 12 Commerce and the entrepreneurship students of science and humanities had the opportunity to pay an industrial visit to Bikaji Foods International Ltd, Changsari, Guwahati. The students accompanied by Parikshit Sir, Bala Meenakshi Ma’am, Pankaj Sir, Seema Ma’am, and Karabi Ma’am with the support of Mr. Ramasamy Kannan (General Manager, Plant and Operations), were eager to learn about the process of manufacturing and packaging food items. Our royalites learned about the industry's utility manufacturing and packaging units in detail, from learning about wastewater treatment, power supply, and the process of heating thermic fluid to preparing snacks from raw materials, packaging, and sending them out to be sold. The eager minds had their curiosity, satisfied. It was a pivoted experience for the students who could learn about the subject through an important practical experience.
In a heartwarming celebration of dedication and hidden talents, Royal Global School and Royal Global University jointly hosted a grand event to honour their support staff, whose tireless efforts keep the institutions running smoothly. The event kicked off early in the morning with vibrant performances by the often-overlooked heroes of the educational institutions—the drivers, ayahs, housekeeping staff, gardeners, and electronic maintenance crews. From ensuring safe transport and pristine classrooms to maintaining lush green lawns and functional educational technology, these individuals are the backbone of the daily operations. Today, however, they took center stage for a different reason. Showcasing an array of talents that ranged from eloquent recitations to captivating dance performances and enchanting vocal displays, the staff members revealed their multifaceted abilities to an enthralled audience. A particularly memorable moment was the fashion show put on by the Didis and Ayaas, who proudly wore the vibrant and colourful traditional attire of the North East, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the region. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, Principal of Royal Global School, expressed his gratitude to the relentless efforts of the staff at school. He expressed that it is only in schools and universities that the workers do not deal with machines rather humans. The raw material is human, the by product and the final product is also human. This is the edge they have over workers in other areas. The Vice Chancellor of Royal Global University, Prof. Dr SP Singh, also spoke emphasizing the importance of passion and respect in every job. "Every role in our institutions is crucial and today we recognize the passion and dedication that our staff brings to their work every day," he stated. The highlight of the event came from Dr. AK Pansari, Chairman of the institutions, who revealed that the idea to celebrate May Day in this unique way was his initiative. Dr. Pansari praised the workers for their sincerity and dedication and discussed ways they could further enrich their lives and careers. The day concluded with a sense of shared respect and admiration between the staff and the institution's administration, reinforcing the community spirit that Royal Global prides itself on. The celebration not only honoured the indispensable work of the support staff but also brought to light the extraordinary talents they possess beyond their daily responsibilities.
Dance is the hidden language of the soul! A special assembly on the occasion of “WORLD DANCE DAY” was conducted on 29 April 2024 by the Prefect Council of RGS. Headboy, Arham Dudhoria set the tone of the assembly emphasizing the thought that 'dance is a burst of creativity which fills our hearts with boundless joy and excitement'. The assembly began with seeking blessings of the Almighty followed by a wonderful thought by Friedrich Nietzche- “And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music”. Vice-captain, Vivekananda House proposed “dance” as the word of the day, and Vice-Captain, Gandhi House shared the significance of the day while taking a whirlwind tour of India- the land where dance runs through our veins like a vibrant river of rhythm and movement. Jhumur dance, a folk dance form originally performed by members of the tea tribe in Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand was brilliantly portrayed by the students of RGS. The next scintillating performance of the day was the Bihu dance recital by Head Girl, Arisha Sheikh who was accompanied by a group of all-female Bihu musicians named ‘Xurujmukhi Suwali Bihu dol’ which captivated the audience to a gargantuan extent. The final performance was a lecture demonstration by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Mridusmita Das Bora who showcased another imperative aspect of Axomiya culture; “ Sattriya”. Mrs Das Bora who is the recipient of Sangeet Natak Academy’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar and Young Talented Artiste Award (NEZCC, GOI) began her demonstration with a Vishnu Vandana, accompanied by her co-performer, Rajiv Kumar Das, followed by sharing a glimpse of her journey in the field of Dance so far. She accentuated the importance of consistency to achieve success in one’s life. She concluded her presentation with a brief insight into the concept of Navarasa while connecting them to our five sense organs. The session’s takeaway was a message to the audience, “Do what you love, be persistent in your efforts and success will be yours”. The assembly was brought to an end with an address by the Principal, Dr. Dilip Kumar Panda.
Field trips for kindergarten foster collaboration, flexibility, and empathy in young children, nurturing their social and emotional growth. These excursions offer kids opportunities to engage with educators and peers across diverse environments, fostering social connections and emotional resilience. Recently, the pre-primary students of RGS embarked on an enriching journey to Deepor Beel. Brimming with enthusiasm, they eagerly boarded the bus, singing songs, sharing stories, and eagerly identifying the sights along the way, upon arriving at the scenic locale of Deepor Beel, the children joyfully unpacked and enjoyed their meals alongside their friends, immersing themselves in the serene surroundings and reveling in the camaraderie of shared experiences.
The Career Orientation, Guidance, and Motivation seminar facilitated by Prof. Dr. George Dean, RSB and RSC, along with Dr. Bitopi, HOD School of Business, RGU, proved to be a transformative experience for the students of Class 12 at RGS. As they embark on their journey towards higher education and professional growth, the insights gained from the seminar will undoubtedly serve as a guiding light, empowering them to realize their full potential and achieve their aspirations. The seminar left a profound impact on the students, empowering them with knowledge, inspiration, and motivation to chart their career paths effectively. The guidance provided by Prof. Dr. George Dean is poised to assist students in making informed decisions and pursuing their goals with clarity and confidence.
The boarders of Royal Global School embarked on a trek to Bhima Shankar Mandir Hill Side, Pamohi, accompanied by sports staff and residential teachers, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda. The trek covered a total distance of approximately 12 kilometers. The students enthusiastically participated and thoroughly enjoyed the event. The group commenced their journey at 5:30 am and returned to the campus by 8:30 am.
On 24.04.2024, MV Kohua Bon, a unit of Sofia Navigation Cruises Pvt Ltd, organized a river cruise on “Unifying our Actions for Bird Awareness and Conservation”, aimed at fostering bird awareness and conservation among 40 students representing 4 schools from Guwahati. Renowned experts Dr. Biswajit De and Anwaruddin Choudhury shared their knowledge on the significance of bird watching in conservation efforts. Students gained valuable insights into the intricate world of Ornithology. A hands-on art activity was conducted, where students created Herbarium under expert guidance. This provided a creative avenue for students to engage with and deepen their understanding of conservation practices. Ten students of Grade 9 and 10 from Royal Global School actively participated in the event. Furthermore, four students were honored for their exceptional contributions in various categories, showcasing their dedication and talent. The event provided a platform for students to connect with nature and understand the importance of preserving avian biodiversity. Through interactive sessions and practical activities, students gained practical skills and knowledge, empowering them to become stewards of the environment. The program served as a catalyst for inspiring the young minds of conservationists. The event not only educated students about bird conservation but also instilled in them a sense of responsibility towards preserving our natural heritage.
What an incredible day of discovery and adventure for our Grade 1 students during their neighborhood field trip! Our young explorers traversed the charming streets of the city and surrounding areas, pausing at various points of interest such as schools, hospitals, and captivating landmarks like Deepor Beel, the aromatic medicinal garden, ISBT, Balaji Temple, and the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre. Each stop provided a unique learning experience, deepening the students' understanding and appreciation of their community. With smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories, the day was truly magical. The enthusiasm and curiosity of our students made every moment special.
The first online meeting of Economics Sandbox with the student participants, conducted on 23rd April 2024, marked the beginning of an enriching journey for the students and facilitators. Under the umbrella of the Round Square community, Royal Global School thrives on holistic education. The agenda for the meeting was to define essential agreement and revisit the timeline. The the meeting also discussed future steps of experimental economics. Apart from Royal Global School, 11 other schools from India have participated in the meeting. On the occasion of World Book Day, a special event, "The Bookworm Family," was organized for the parents and children of Grade 3. The event was designed to foster a love for reading and to encourage family participation and creativity through various book-themed activities. It served as a testament to the importance of nurturing literary appreciation from an early age. Through a diverse range of activities like storytelling session with props , dramatic renditions of popular children's books, book-inspired artwork from colorful illustrations to imaginative collages and character interview session, participants were inspired to explore the magical world of books, fostering a lifelong love for reading and learning. The Bookworm Family was a resounding success, bringing together families in celebration of literature, creativity, and imagination. "Exploring historical sites is a journey through time, where each step is a chapter in the epic saga of humanity's legacy." A group of 96 students of Grade 5 embarked on a captivating journey to Hajo, a town nestled in the verdant landscapes of Assam. Their expedition was not just about sightseeing but also aimed at immersing themselves in the rich cultural tapestry and historical significance of the region. They had an amazing time exploring the Hayagriva Madhava Temple. They were awestruck by the temple's stunning architecture and felt a sense of tranquility in its spiritual atmosphere. The temple's architecture is a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage, blending elements of Hindu and Buddhist design. Intricate carvings adorn the walls and pillars, depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. It was an enriching experience learning about the cultural significance of the temple. They departed with a deeper appreciation for Hajo's cultural heritage, religious diversity, and historical significance, carrying with them memories that would last a lifetime.
We should not teach children the sciences but give them a taste of them. – Jean Jacques Rosseau A total of 68 enthusiastic students of Grade IV ventured on an exciting journey to the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati accompanied by teachers and helpers on April 22, 2024. It was an activity-driven non-formal science educational tour for young inquisitive minds. Students witnessed the meticulously designed permanent galleries that the Science Centre houses which displayed numerous exhibits. Other than this, children experienced an enthralling dynamic science park which included the mock-up coal mine tour to visualize the unique atmosphere of a real coal mine. They also came across the fantastic Mirror Magic Gallery, which celebrates light and reflections. Children were exhilarated by an excellent stereoscopic digital 3D cinema projection which tricked their eyes and gave them a massive adrenaline rush. Further, they were also amazed to see Science on a Sphere to learn about the Earth’s dynamic environmental processes as well as the view of celestial objects with digital simulation. Children also learned the chilling science in the Super Cold Show where various materials exhibited abnormal characteristics under icy conditions with Liquid Nitrogen. They also loved the vibrant outdoor expositions such as a mock prehistoric park and an inbuilt large aquarium which further captivated their curiosity. Engaging children in such fun learning enhanced a lasting affinity towards co-existence and fueled their thirst to understand nature's harmony.
“Look out for the land and the land will look after you, Destroy the land, and the land will destroy you.” To celebrate Earth Day, a day dedicated to our magnificent planet, the students of Royal Global School gathered to attend a special assembly on 22nd April 2024. The assembly began with a moment of prayer, reflecting on the beauty of this beautiful planet called Earth. The assembly proceedings were an amalgamation of a medley of vibrant performances and presentations wherein the narrative of hope, inspiration, and action for a brighter and greener future was weaved. The enchanting artistry of a Nukkad Natak (Street Play)depicting the importance of preserving our planet was staged in a fun and interactive way. Every gesture and word echoed the urgency and the need of the hour to save the earth. The play was followed by a harmonious symphony of a musical enactment - a modern contemporary presentation that showed the beautiful gift of nature from God is, and took us on a harmonious journey of reverence, honoring the bond between humanity and nature. A video sensitizing about the detrimental effect of plastic on the environment was screened, where the visuals served as a gentle reminder of the consequences of actions of humankind and the need for change. The Principal, Dr. Dilip Kumar Panda addressed the assembly and emphasized the role played by students as harbingers of change in the society so that we maintain the exquisitely delicate balance of nature. The program ended with a wonderful display of different models made by the students describing the importance of utmost care to be taken regarding Earth.
Today on 18th April 2024 - World Heritage Day, the students of Grade 3 embarked on an educational journey to Assam State Museum. The trip was organized to explore the rich history and cultural heritage of our state. Upon arrival, students were greeted by the museum staff who provided with a brief orientation about the museum's layout, rules, and highlights. The museum promised a fascinating array of exhibits, artifacts, and interactive displays, offering us a glimpse into the past and present of our region. The tour began by delving into the Village life of Assam Gallery which provided a sight of the village life of Assam through scale models of assamese household, naam ghar, fishing and farming implements etc. The displays in the Sculpture Gallery, which were fashioned in the pre-Ahom period allowed the students to experience ancient wood carvings, terracota pots and potsherds, kaolin pottery firsthand, bringing history to life in an immersive way. Children were amazed to see the items belonging to medieval period and other modern specimen used by Japanese army during Second World war. They also enjoyed the Epigraphy Gallery which gave them the insights to the inscriptions and royal proclamations written in various scripts and languages. They left the museum feeling inspired and proud of our state's rich legacy, eager to continue the exploration of its past and present.
Six bright minds from Grade 8 participated in an exhilarating RS Zoom Postcard on 17th April on the topic ‘Round Square Brainbash’, organised by Ashbury College, Canada. Through engaging quizzes and thought-provoking discussions, the students explored diverse perspectives on global issues and collaborated with peers worldwide. Every moment was a testament to the power of curiosity and connection.
As the hues of spring adorn nature and splashes of color are everywhere, Spring Festivals are celebrated in different parts of India with different names. In Assam, it is known as Rongali Bihu or Bohag Bihu. Royal Global School celebrated Rongali Bihu with enthusiastic zeal. The school came alive as students and faculty members from across the grades were dressed in their traditional finery, presenting a sight to behold. The celebration began with a skit in which students from grades 6 to 8 informed the gathering about the significance of Bohag Bihu and how it is celebrated, including the delicacies that are an integral part of the Bihu celebrations. The audience was also educated about the varied types of Bihu. The festival is not limited to goru bihu (cattle festival) and manuh bihu (human festival) but also includes seven other types of bihu, known as saat bihu. Each type of bihu is unique and holds significant cultural and traditional value in the Assamese community. As the festive season approaches, the excitement in the air is palpable, and the preparations for saat bihu begin. From traditional delicacies to colorful attire, everything is a part of this grand celebration. The stage came alive as students from grades 4 to 12 danced to the beats of the Dhol, Pepa, and the Gogona. The breathtaking moves of the Bihu dancers captivated, enchanted, mesmerized, and enthralled the students. The special assembly concluded with an address by the school's principal, Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda. He appreciated the students' hard work and, to the delight of all, addressed the students in Assamese. The cherry on top was an impromptu dance by the faculty members of the school. Overall, it was a lovely assembly that set the mood for the festivities that have gripped the Assamese people!

Saraswati Puja was joyously celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm on 14 February 2024 at Royal Global School. Also known as Vasant Panchami, it is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated to honor the deity of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. The school premises were beautifully adorned with colorful flowers, rangolis, and intricate decorations. The idols of Goddess Saraswati exuded a divine aura throughout the campus. The day commenced with an auspicious puja ceremony conducted by the school's priest. Students, teachers, and staff members, led by the Vice Principal of the institution gathered to offer prayers and seek the blessings of the Goddess Saraswati for knowledge and academic success. The atmosphere resonated with the melodious chants of hymns and mantras, creating a serene ambience. Following the puja ceremony, the sacred prasad, consisting of traditional sweets and fruits and khichdi was distributed among all attendees as a symbol of blessings from the goddess. The sharing of prasad fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among everyone present. During a natural disaster, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) plays a crucial role in executing effective rescue operations, utilizing a systematic approach that prioritizes swift and strategic responses. In the case of an earthquake, the focus shifts to search and rescue missions in collapsed structures, employing cutting-edge technology and skilled personnel. The NDRF conducted mock drills at the Royal Global School to educate students about natural disasters and safety measures during such occurrences. A group of 19 students from Royal Global School participated in an introductory golf coaching workshop organized by the Assam Golf Association at the Narengi Rhino Golf Course. The session was led by renowned Indian Golf coach, Mr. Karan from Delhi, accompanied by two assistant coaches from Assam. Mr. Sanjib Jaiswal extended a warm welcome to the students, who also had the privilege of interacting with accomplished golfers from India. Following the workshop, the students were provided with light snacks before heading back to school.
Advanced swimming classes commenced on January 30, 2024, exclusively for the swimmers of Royal Global School. Royal Global School witnessed a momentous event on 27th January 2024 as it celebrated the Graduation Ceremony for the outgoing students of Grade 12. The ceremony, held with grandeur and grace, marked the culmination of the students' academic journey and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. The ceremony commenced with the arrival of dignitaries while the Vice Principal of the institution walked amid the august gathering with the traditional Lamp of Continuity, symbolizing brightness, prosperity, and the pursuit of knowledge. The masters of ceremonies, set the tone with a motivational welcome address, highlighting that graduation is not an end but the start of a new chapter filled with possibilities. The distinguished guests present included Dr A. K. Pansari, Chairman of Royal Global School, Sri A.K. Modi, Vice Chairman of Royal Global School, Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Chancellor of Nagaland University and other esteemed members of the management. The Chief Guest, Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap, was felicitated by the Head Boy, Dev Tiwari, for his remarkable academic journey and contributions to journalism. The Vice Principal, Ms Binita Jain, addressed the students, sharing her thoughts on the roller coaster journey experienced by the graduating class with exceptional fortitude. A scintillating dance recital showcased the talent of the students followed by an inspiring speech by Dr. Samudra Gupta Kashyap, the Chief Guest in which he hoped the sun never set on this institution. Quoting the late Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, he urged all students to always uphold and respect one’s individuality. In his inspiring address, Dr. A. K. Pansari, the Chairman of Royal Global School insisted that parents need not create undue pressure upon their wards to excel, rather, the focus should be on holistic learning and overall growth. To the students, he quoted Shlokhs of Chanakya emphasising learning from one’s school, self, family and peers. The outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl, Dev Tiwari and Riddhi Poddar, delivered impactful speeches, representing the aspirations of the student community. The Lamp of Continuity was passed on to the successors amidst a symbolic transition. As the National Anthem played, the ceremony ended, leaving the audience filled with pride and inspiration. To commemorate and celebrate our Constitution, Royal Global School celebrated the 75th Republic Day with a lot of patriotic zeal and fervour.
The school wore a festive look as it was adorned with the hues of the Tricolour and the feeling of patriotism reverberated throughout the school campus.
Set amidst the canopy of lush greenery the Tricolour was unfurled and it nestled fluttering high as a soulful flute rendition played in the background.
The march-past by the school contingent in their smart attire saluted the Tricolour as a token of respect to our Mother Land. The school band followed giving a rhythmic beat to the March Past.
Vice Principal Ms Binita Jain emphasised that along with celebration we should embark on a journey of introspection and praised Bharat as it marches ahead and leaves no stone unturned for a holistic development of its citizens.
The short enactment portrayed by our young Indians informed the august gathering about the making of the Constitution and the work of calligraphy and illustrations that adorn the pages of our glorious Constitution. The play enthralled the audience as well as enriched their knowledge about the Constitution.
India is a land of diversity, and this was well displayed as the talented singers of RGS enchanted everyone with their songs sung in three Indian languages. The melodious performance captivated the audience.
Dr. Dilip Kumar Panda, Principal Designate appreciated the students for their splendid display of acting, music and dance. He took us down memory lane about the significance of the Constitution and that it should be in our culture to celebrate the freedom fighters every day. Harmony is our culture and not animosity he stressed. By giving the right values to our students one can create a great Nation called Bharat he said.
The nimble feet of the graceful dancers in their pristine white costumes kept everyone spellbound with their mesmerizing moves.

In continuation of our endeavour to provide experiential learning to our young royalites, a trip to Quick Shoppe in the premises of Royal Global University was organised for the students of Grade 3 on 25th January 2024. The aim of the visit was to enrich students' understanding of various concepts related to money beyond the confined spaces of classrooms. They purchased things for their family cautiously keeping in mind the budget, cross checking their bills with the help of addition and subtraction. This field trip was very insightful as it helped the young learners in real time application of Mathematical concepts.

Renowned for directing and composing masterpieces like Joymati (1935), he holds a revered position among influential figures in the industry. Affectionately known as the Rupkonwar of Assamese culture, his pioneering work in Assamese cinema, particularly with "Joymoti," earned him the title of its founder. His death anniversary on January 17th is commemorated as Silpi Divas (Artists' Day). The Royal Global School's celebration of Silpi Divas reflects a commendable effort to instill respect and admiration for such great artists among students.
The third day of the Annual Sports Meet was a grand event that brought athletes and spectators together to curate physical prowess and teamwork. The school’s expansive playground served as the venue for the event. Our esteemed guest for the event was Dr. Kiran Seth, an academician, Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi since 1976. Dr. Seth is also credited with setting up the society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst youth. The day’s event spurred off with the bearing of the torch by the Sports Captain and continued by the various national and international sports achievers of the school. The torch lighting ceremony officially unravelled the event. This was followed by the Vice Principal’s speech and the release of balloons by the House Masters. Students from grades 6 to 9 and 11 participated in a variety of events, including march past, gymnastics, 100- & 200-meter race, relay race, horse show, drill and many more. However, the main attraction had been the competitions among parents. The day concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashok Talukdar (HOD Sports) and the awarding of certificates and prizes to the winners. To end it off the house participants walked the ‘March off’ calling an end to the proceedings.
The students and teachers of Vivekananda House joyously celebrated Swami Vivekananda's birthday by gathering around his statue. With utmost reverence, they adorned the statue with garlands, symbolizing their commitment to embodying his timeless teachings. Through this simple yet profound act, they collectively remembered and embraced the inspiring wisdom imparted by Swami Vivekananda, fostering a sense of unity and enlightenment among the school community.
Sports has the power to change the world. It's about life, emotions, and passion. Royal Global School witnessed the fusion of sweat, teamwork, and cheers during the Annual Sports Day for Grades 1-5. The day brimmed with thrills as budding sportspersons showcased athleticism and sportsmanship. The auspicious day kicked off with Ms. Binita Jain, Vice Principal, releasing balloons symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the students. Grade 2 students demonstrated various asanas for a fit and healthy life, followed by a diverse range of events like the 50-meter race, sack race, obstacle race, three-legged race, relay race, and more. Deafening applause from the audience boosted the spirit of young athletes performing drill, aerobics, gymnastics, and taekwondo. The enthusiasm and zeal of parents participating in the 50-meter dash were awe-inspiring. Deserving winners were felicitated with gifts and loud applause. As the day concluded, resounding cheers and smiles reflected collective joy and appreciation for sportsmanship and achievement. The proceedings wrapped up with a vote of thanks and the rendition of the National Anthem.
The Harvest Festival Magh Bihu also known as Bhogali Bihu was celebrated with a lot of festive fervour and enthusiastic zeal. The school wore a festive look and most of us were dressed in our traditional finery. There was a special Assembly where the students put up a splendid skit wherein all the aspects of Bihu were showcased beautifully. The program reached its feverish peak when the Bihu dancers put up a well synchronised and graceful dance and had everyone grooving to the foot tapping number. The Vice Principal Mrs. Binita Jain addressed the gathering students and wished everyone on the auspicious occasion of Magh Bihu. The cherry on the top was the tiny tots of Pre Primary dressed in traditional Assamese attire and dancing to the beat of the Dhol and the Peppa ! The special Assembly came to an end with the burning of the Meji and everyone having a bite of the Pitha and Nariyal laddoo.
The much awaited Annual Sports day began with the tiny tots of Royal Global school as Junior Olympics. We had several captivating and thrilling games for our little ones, parents and grandparents. The event kicked off with soothing Yog Yatra by Grade 2 students followed by various games such as build a tower, obstacles race, go for shopping, 50 meter dash, weight lifting, ready for school, etc. Parents and grandparents also showed their enthusiasm by participating in races such as the three legged race, thread and needle race, 50meter dash, spoon and marble race. All of them received prizes and gifts for their jubilant win. We also witnessed a performance on aerobics by Grade 1 students as well. The pre-primary students concluded the event with a spirited march followed with a vote of thanks and national anthem.

To mark the celebration of Magh Bihu, also known as Bhogali Bihu, the children of Grade IV-C of Royal Global School presented a short enactment featuring the farmers’ emotions towards the end of the harvesting season. On Magh Bihu, the granaries of the farmers are full which fills their heart with happiness & enthusiasm in abundance. This festival is a time for people to come together as a community for the thanksgiving ceremonies for a bountiful harvest and celebrate by feasting with their loved ones.
The pre primary section organised a poem and story telling competition for the kids to showcase their creativity, competing against each other. Their Imaginary worlds came to life through their innocent words, and sweet rhymes. The competition promised to be a heartwarming spectacle, where the pure joy of storytelling and the magic of poetry unfolded in the most adorable way possible.

Keeping this in view, the Political Science department organized an educational trip to Delhi on 22nd December 2023. Visit to Delhi offered a rich educational experience to the students by exposing them to different cultures, histories, and political perspectives. The majestic Red Fort’s light and music show provided them with a tangible connection to the country’s past. Visiting the National Museum offered them insights into India’s diverse history and heritage. The most enriching experience the students gained was from the visit to the Prime Minister’s Sangrahalaya which provided them an idiosyncratic insight into India’s political history and governance. The digitalization of the making of the Constitution has transformed the learning experience for the students. Digital service sources such as online archives, and multimedia presentations, offered students dynamic and engaging ways to explore the intricacies of constitutional drafting. Students could access a wealth of information including original documents, audio recordings, and visual materials, fostering a more immersive and comprehensive understanding of the constitutional-making process. These have provided students with a more vivid and participatory educational experience in studying political science and constitutional history. Visiting the Akshardham Temple, Lotus Temple, and Bangla Saheb Gurudwara enriched students' education by offering a holistic experience that encompasses culture, spirituality, architecture, and historical context.

The festivities commenced with Royal Crescendo paying homage to the motherland through the National and State Anthems. The lighting of the lamp, symbolizing light, hope, and knowledge, followed suit, accompanied by the felicitation of the chief guest. Vice Principal Mrs. Binita Jain emphasized the significance of music, noting that it transcends barriers. The chief guest highlighted the importance of work-life balance and praised the school's commitment to nurturing artistic talents. The array of dances kept the audience spellbound. The dances were an eclectic mix of graceful and synchronized moves. The dazzling costumes bedazzled one and sundry; indeed a breathtaking sight to behold! The Founder's Day celebration concluded as a fitting end to 2023, leaving an indelible mark in the minds of all who witnessed the magnificent show presented by the students of Royal Global School Guwahati.

The highlight of the event was the enchanting Christmas Carol singing performance by the youngest members of the Royal Global School family—students from pre-primary to grade 1, alongside their talented teachers. The air resonated with the sweet melodies of classic carols, creating a heartwarming ambiance that captured the true essence of Christmas. Adding to the carnival's charm were the diverse stalls that catered to every age group. Food stalls offered a delectable array of treats, satisfying the taste buds of the attendees. From mouthwatering delicacies to festive delights, the carnival was a gastronomic delight for all. The game stalls provided a thrilling experience with activities like snow bustle, elf hopping, jingle bell toss, and holly jolly squash squad. Laughter echoed through the air as families engaged in friendly competition and embraced the holiday spirit with these entertaining games. For sports enthusiasts, the carnival featured sports stalls showcasing cricket, football, golf, and basketball. Enthusiastic participants showcased their skills, fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition. One of the most heartening aspects of the event was the opportunity for students to showcase their creativity. Craft and DIY stalls displayed an impressive array of handmade items crafted by talented students. Parents and visitors eagerly took home these unique creations, ensuring that the festive spirit extended beyond the carnival grounds. The joyous atmosphere and festive energy culminated in a truly memorable experience for students and parents alike. As families left the carnival, they carried with them not just crafty treasures but also a bag full of cherished memories that will undoubtedly add warmth and joy to their Christmas season.
On 14th December, Royal Global School welcomed Mr. Pradip Mukherjee, author of the book, 'Message of God' for an insightful and interactive session on the subject, ' Having God in our life in a practical way to bring ease and peace in our life and to become stress-free and improve our concentration.' Mr. Mukherjee is well-versed in the field of science and technology. He is also an entrepreneur, having run a company manufacturing engineering products. However, he discovered his real vocation was delving deep into the secrets of healing the mind and the body. Mr. Mukherjee's opening remarks were aimed at giving students valuable advice about individuality. He stressed on the importance of developing courage and confidence and being assertive in the face of challenges. It is rightly said that ' Knowledge only opens doors, but it does not help in navigating through life. ' Mr. Mukherjee spoke about his own experiences and how he was able to combat the challenges life threw at him. He was inspired by the speeches of great orators and sought to learn the skills that made their messages effective. He shared how he tried to learn jokes online and memorize his speeches in the early days. And how he stumbled before finally making his mark as a confident and assertive person. This journey of self-discovery was long, but it turned him into an authentic, knowledgeable person. Mr. Mukherjee concluded his session by stressing on the importance of living in the moment and being alive and joyous every moment we live.

Udaya Kumar Dharmalingam is an Indian academic and designer noted for his design of the Indian rupee sign. His design was selected from among five short listed symbols. As of December 2019, he is the Head of the Department of Design at IIT Guwahati, Assam. He received an invitation from Royal Global School to enlighten students about the essence of design and guide them on navigating a potential career in the field.
In an endeavour to empower girls to live a life with less fear and more freedom 15 female students from Royal Global School have taken part in a self-defence training (5th December- 8th December 2023), organized at 4th Assam Police Battalion training grounds, Kahillipara. The learning outcomes from the training on Self Defence were 1) The students learnt about the different kinds of violence that may be faced by girls or by women in any place including at home. 2) The student participants learnt different self-protection moves on how to avoid/defend by attacking a potential attacker by using objects or by striking the soft spots of the attacker, when subjected to physical abuse, violence, crime, etc. 3) The students had the chance to see the live demo of the self-defence techniques as demonstrated by the trainers.

We are thrilled to announce that all seven students from our esteemed institution who participated in the tournament have brought immense pride and glory to our school. Jisha Jain, a talented student from Grade IV, displayed exceptional skills and secured the champion title in the Upto Class IV category. She achieved a remarkable feat by attaining a full score of 7/7. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jisha Jain for her outstanding performance. In the same category, Aariana Kahsyap exhibited great prowess and secured the second position in the girl section. Additionally, Chaitanaya Siotia showcased exceptional talent and secured the third position in the boys section. We wholeheartedly congratulate both Aarian Kahsyap and Chaitanaya Siotia for their remarkable achievements. Idhant Kashyap, the youngest player in the tournament, showcased immense potential and was honored with the "Best Youngest Player of the Tournament" award. We applaud Idhant Kashyap for his exceptional performance and congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition. Moving on to the Class VI to VIII category, Sia Sonthalia demonstrated remarkable skills and secured the fifth position in the girl section. In the Class IX to XII category, Dev Goyal exhibited commendable talent and secured the third position. It is worth noting that the Late Kailash Nath Memorial Inter School Chess Tournament 2023 was organized by Snehabandan and witnessed the participation of 120 players from various schools in Assam.

The session commenced with an insightful observation by Niyatii N Shah, emphasizing that children learn through observation. She encouraged everyone present to be attentive and vigilant. Using engaging activities, she underscored the importance of connecting and bonding with children, highlighting the significance of sharing memories and experiences rather than solely giving instructions. Niyatii N Shah eloquently expressed that building a strong parent-child relationship is crucial before delving into sensitive topics. She encouraged creating an environment where daughters feel comfortable sharing with their mothers, and sons feel at ease confiding in their fathers. The speaker emphasized that adolescence is not merely a phase but a transformative journey. She reframed rebellion during this period as a potential sign of leadership, asserting that questioning and not blindly accepting everything fosters confidence in children. To be effective parents, she advised tapping into children's feelings rather than always seeking logical explanations. Furthermore, Niyatii N Shah urged adolescents to care for their bodies, fostering a sense of pride and ownership without excessive emphasis on conventional beauty standards. She acknowledged the natural inclination to be conscious of one's appearance but advised against undue stress. Acknowledging the emotional turmoil adolescents undergo, the speaker stressed the importance of supporting them effectively. She reiterated that respect is a two-way street, emphasizing that if adults desire respect, they should reciprocate it to adolescents. Niyatii N Shah encouraged parents to engage in light-hearted conversations when children are young, laying the foundation for open discussions on more serious topics later. Both the morning and afternoon sessions received positive responses from parents who appreciated the sensitive approach to the subject. Many expressed gratitude to the school for addressing a crucial topic and advocated for incorporating sex education into the school curriculum.
On the 1st and 2nd of December, 2023 a night spend program was organised for the 2nd graders of Royal Global School in the school campus. As we all know that playing and spending time with friends is a crucial part of children’s development. With that aim in view, a very structured itinerary was planned so that the children would be able to build greater bonds with their classmates as well as have a great learning experience away from the classroom and home environment. The scrumptious meals and lip-smacking snacks were provided at regular intervals that were thoroughly relished by the children. The wonderful jam session, movie time, and entertaining activities were the highlights of the evening. Laughter and giggles rang through the hostel corridors as children shared jokes and riddles at night before bedtime tales. The next morning began with some early morning jogging and exercises. An outing to a neighbouring park was planned, where students made paper bags out of old newspapers and learned the value of being reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable while also posing less of a threat to wildlife. The excitement of the little children and the anxiety of the parents was quite palpable as it was their first time away from home for most of them. The event was a great success and the children went back home with some beautiful memories to cherish.

Round Square forum for the South Asia region was hosted by Indian School, Dubai from 17th -20th November 2023 and was attended by Ms. Binita Jain, Vice-Principal, Royal Global School. The 3-day forum was full of vibrancy and meaningful discussions where ideas bloomed. The Forum talked about the good practices implemented by various RS schools across South Asia & Gulf region. Those practices were presented and shared by the representatives of the various schools. Some of the innovative good practices shared were Nurturing Pathfinders to be Pathbreakers, Campus as Curriculum, Building Character, and the Wabi Sabi way. Vice Principal, RGS through her vibrant presentation spoke on the topic: “Breaking Barriers: Advancing Inclusivity in Education” in front of representatives from all across the South Asian Region. Her presentation was appreciated by Ms.Rachael Westgarth, Round Square CEO, and Rajbir (Bubbles) Sandhu, Schools' Support Director - South Asia & the Gulf region. The forum concluded with an induction to the RS pilot program Heroes of Discovery which is all about introducing the RS Discovery Framework to primary years by a team of cartoon superheroes who bring the twelve attributes of the RS Discovery Framework to life.
Yunay Gupta, a student of class 1B at Royal Global School, has achieved the distinction of being the youngest kettlebell athlete in India. Currently holding 1 state record and 2 national records as recognized by the Assam Book of Records, he has further secured a national record listed in the India Book of Records and an Asian record acknowledged by the Asia Book of Records. Notably, he also boasts a world record registered under the USA Record Setter. Setting this remarkable feat at the age of 5, Yunay Gupta earned the title of the youngest kettlebell player. Undeterred by his age, he is fervently preparing for his upcoming Assam state championship. In addition to his kettlebell accomplishments, Yunay has achieved the rank of yellow belt in Kyokushin Karate, showcasing his diverse interests and dedication to multiple disciplines.

The Royal Global School's Pre-primary and Primary wing celebrated the joyous occasion of Diwali, embracing the rich cultural heritage of India. Students immersed themselves in a myriad of traditional activities and experiences that illuminated the spirit of the festival. The school was adorned with vibrant colors as the tiny toddlers of pre-primary adorned themselves in beautiful ethnic attire, exuding the charm of the festival. Decked in traditional clothing, the students radiated joy and happiness, adding an extra layer of beauty to the festivities. A sweet aroma wafted through the air as the students delved into the art of making fireless laddoos. Through this hands-on activity, they not only experienced the joy of creating traditional sweets but also imbibed the significance of sweetness in the celebration of Diwali. Creativity filled the atmosphere as the students showcased their artistic talents. They intricately designed colorful rangolis, crafted radiant diyas, assembled paper lanterns, and weaved vibrant torans, adorning the school premises with stunning displays of art and craft. The celebration commenced with a serene moment when the students collectively lit diyas, signifying the triumph of light over darkness. This ritual not only marked the beginning of the Diwali celebration but also instilled in the students the significance of spreading brightness and dispelling negativity. As part of the Diwali festivity, the students enthusiastically participated in celebrating Dhanteras. Engaging in various activities and discussions, they learned about the cultural importance of this day, embracing the spirit of prosperity and wealth.
The visit to Ananda Marga Children's Home at Guwahati-34, was a meaningful and enriching experience for the students of 9B of Royal Global School creating a bond with the orphans and leaving a lasting impact. It highlighted the importance of social responsibility and empathy in our society, encouraging us to continue making a positive difference in the lives of those in need.
The Utsarga Club had organized a visit to the Nortap village, at Sonapur on 08/11/2023 to celebrate the festival of lights with the children of the M.E. School. This visit was also to commemorate the National Day for Community Service on the 4th of November 2023. The team that visited the school comprised volunteers of Grade XI ( Humanities and Commerce). An enthusiastic team of 23 students along with the Club Coordinator Mrs Mahua G. Kanungoe visited the school loaded with diyas, chocolates, sweets, dry fruits, and other food items for the children as well as for the teachers of the school. Various activities like Diya painting, song, dance, and games were organized for the children to celebrate an environment-friendly 'Green Diwali'. Students of RGS and Nortap M. E School formed groups to paint Diyas and display their talents in recitation, dance, and singing. All the club members made immense efforts to prepare themselves for the day and create a beautiful memory for every child and also made sure to bring a light of hope, happiness, and joy to everyone this Diwali.

Royal Global School, Guwahati, organized an engaging and educational field trip for Grade 1 students, accompanied by their class teachers, to the Dispur Fire Station. The primary objective of this excursion was to impart the significance of community helpers in our daily lives. During the visit, our young learners received valuable insights from the fire officer, who enlightened them about the vital role of fire authorities in times of emergency. The children were informed about the importance of dialling 101 to reach the fire department when in need and were also introduced to various types of disasters. The students were enthralled as they observed the firefighters in action, witnessing how they utilize their fire trucks during emergencies. The firefighters graciously displayed and explained the array of equipment they use, demonstrating the proper use of a fire extinguisher. Our inquisitive children didn't hold back and fired away with questions, surprising the firefighters with their curiosity and enthusiasm. This field trip was a perfect blend of fun and education, offering the children valuable insights into how one should respond during emergency situations. It provided them with a first-hand understanding of the duties and responsibilities of firefighters, reinforcing the awareness of the pivotal role these brave individuals play in our lives.
Congratulations to Kritarth Kashyap of Grade 12 F for his remarkable achievement in the 43rd Kamrup Metro Inter Club Powerlifting Championship 2023!. He secured the 1st position in the 93 Kg category, beating out many other competitors from different clubs. He lifted a total of 455 kg in the three events: squat, bench press, and deadlift. He also set deadlift with 200 kg. Kritarth has shown great dedication, discipline, and passion for the sport of powerlifting, and has made his school, coach, and family proud. He is an inspiration for many young aspiring powerlifters in the country. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
The students of Grade XI participated in Thalir Innovation Fest organised by Young Indians held at Downtown University on 6/11/23. The students did an excellent performance and are among the top 3 schools in the city. There were 4 categories (Innovate, Create, Express and Empower) where the students showed their extraordinary talent. Learning is fun when it is outside the classroom and so related to the topic "Types of Clothes", the students of Grade 2 visited the Niharika Silk Factory and Vastra Udayan in Sualkuchi on the outskirts of Guahati on 4th November 23 to see, understand and acquire knowledge on handloom and weaving. The hard work put in by the people at the factory left an indelible mark in the students' young minds as they tried to analyse the perspective of the people who worked to bring out the best of fabrics.

On Friday, 3rd November 2023, the vibrant and enthusiastic Grade IV and V children embarked on an exciting adventurous trip to experience freedom with a sense of responsibility. They set off for a rejuvenating educational trip to Kaziranga, to embrace the mutual existence in nature. Their itinerary included a Jeep Safari to Kaziranga National Park through the Western Range, also known as Bagori Range and Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park on Saturday, 4th November, 2023. The team was thrilled to bits witnessing the flora and fauna in abundance and an abode of more than 600 species of wild orchids collected from all across the North-Eastern Indian region. Throughout their stay, the children relished the opportunity of bonding as they sang and danced their hearts out creating a lasting memory of a lifetime. On the third day, November 05, 2023, on their way back home they visited Maha Mrityunjay Temple built in the form of a Shivalinga of a height of 126 feet making it the world’s largest Shivalinga. The memories of the trip are sure to fill their hearts with joy and strengthen the camaraderie of school life.
On 3rd November 2023, the Royal Global School hosted a delightful night spent event for its enthusiastic Grade 3 students. A total of 50 students participated in this memorable night out, filled with fervor and zeal.
The event began after school hours when the students arrived, bringing along their luggage and brimming with hope for a fun-filled evening and night with their friends. The afternoon kicked off with a scrumptious meal that left the students energized and excited for the activities ahead.
Structured games and jam sessions were organized in the evening post snack time, including dance, music, and mimicry, allowing the students to showcase their talents and enjoy the company of their peers. Laughter and excitement filled the air as the students immersed themselves in these creative activities.
Following the lively sessions, a delicious dinner was served, and the students proceeded for an engaging action story time with their beloved teachers. This storytelling session added an element of wonder and imagination to the night, leaving the students captivated and eager for what lay ahead.
As the night settled in, the students went off to bed, with happy faces and the memories of a day well-spent. The following morning commenced with a refreshing morning walk in the company of friends and teachers, and a calming yoga session to set a positive tone for the day.
North East State Level Grand Finale of Wild Wisdom Quiz 2023 was held at Royal Global School today. The theme of the year was “BIRDS OF THE WORLD”. Children from 80 different schools across North East states entered the premises of RGS with a confident smile and a ray of hope to win. To grace the occasion we had amongst us Lakhan Lal Meena, Joint Secretary & CBSE RO North East India as Chief Guest. The grand opening of the program was initiated with the lighting of a lamp by the Chief Guest L L Meena, Archita Baruah Bhattacharjee (State Coordinator, WWF), Binita Jain (Vice Principal, RGS), Mansi Sharma (Headmistress, Senior wing), Paramita Karmakar (Headmistress, Junior wing). Archita Baruah in her welcome address shared the success story of Wild Wisdom Quiz which is so popular that it crossed National boundaries and has become Internationally acclaimed since 2018. Chief Guest in his address shared about his simple living, born in a farmer family, has a passion for flora and fauna, and appealed to children for hard work which is a sure shot step for success. He urged the children to follow NCERT textbooks. Guest of Honour for the occasion was Analendra Sharma, Assistant Director, BSG, who urged the students to actively participate in efforts made to save our environment. The preliminary round began after that, and teamwork was evident from the strong gestures of our dear children. Showcasing movies on different varieties of birds was an added show that created a love for fauna amongst the audience. The five teams were selected for the Final round -Delhi Public School, Duliajan, Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati, DPS, Dibrugarh and South Point School. It comprised five rounds- Audio, identification based on features of birds, Who is calling, and puzzle round. Overall it was a great learning experience and concluded with prize distribution.
The Pre-Primary students at RGS dressed up in a variety of spooky costumes like witches, ghosts, vampires, and their beloved superheroes to celebrate Halloween. They took part in a school-wide parade and had a fantastic time "trick or treating." Additionally, the children had a blast crafting their own eerie Halloween characters as part of the day's activities. The Halloween celebration was a memorable and festive day filled with excitement and merriment.
The two-day 'In-Sync' Inter School Fest, hosted by Royal Global School, commenced with an abundance of fanfare, heralding two days filled with talent and spirited competition. The days leading up to the event offered a glimpse of what was in store for participants and attendees. The school was a hub of bustling activities as it set the stage for the grand event. The festival commenced with the illumination of a symbolic light, signifying positivity, good vibes, and the spirit of healthy competition. The first day of competitions was an amalgamation of both ART and IT. Students engaged in Web Page Designing, Poster Making, Doodle Art, and Debate (Prelims). The Web Page Design competition provided a platform for students to channel their creativity around the theme "Namaste Assam." As they brainstormed ways to present their web pages, their ignited minds shone through. The digital posters were a visual delight, with students pouring their hearts into their aesthetic presentations. They embraced the role of marketing executives, devising ingenious strategies to effectively promote products through their posters. The Doodle Art event was a vivid display of creativity, as students transformed splashes of color into enchanting shapes. The themes for Doodle Art included "Digital India" for juniors and "Bharat" for seniors. The Debaters displayed unwavering conviction as they eloquently presented their arguments for and against the motion. The first day concluded successfully, leaving everyone eagerly awaiting the exciting events lined up for the next day. The prestigious CBSE FAR EAST ZONE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 kicked off with a grand opening day and ceremony, hosted by Royal Global School, Guwahati. The event, which saw participation from over 600 enthusiastic chess players representing 80 schools, commenced with great fervor, camaraderie, and a display of sportsmanship. The day began with the registration of eager participants who had travelled from various corners of the Far East Zone to compete in this highly anticipated championship. Following the registration, the players delved straight into the thrilling action of the first round of games. The atmosphere in the playing halls was charged with intense focus and anticipation as young chess prodigies battled it out on the board, showcasing their strategic brilliance and determination. Dr Sushil Agarwalla, Consultant Psychiatrist, Apollo Hospital and Chikitsa, addressed our students on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2023, on "Addictions: Early signs". During the session, Dr. Agarwalla discussed how addiction to substances like alcohol and various kinds of drugs has an impact on individuals, families, and society as a whole. He highlighted smoking and its dire consequences and its detrimental effects on one's physical well-being. Dr Agarwalla emphasized patterns of addictive behaviours, exploring factors that lead people into the grip of addictive behaviours and, in turn, how these tendencies ripple through every facet of their lives. He also discussed strategies for refraining from such addictive substances. What made this session truly remarkable was the active participation of our students. They eagerly posed numerous questions, fostering a dynamic and interactive learning environment and clarifying addictions in general. ISRO Scientist Mr. Murthy Remilla paid a visit at Royal Global School, Guwahati, on October 10th, 2023. Students at Royal Global School were treated to an informative and inspiring session by Mr. Murthy Remilla, Head of Project Management and Budget at ISRO. During the visit, Mr. Murthy Remilla enlightened young minds about the work carried out by ISRO and shared valuable insights into the fascinating world of space exploration. One of the key highlights of his presentation was the recent launching of Chandrayaan, India's lunar exploration mission. He also provided an insight into the significance of Telemedicine for patients living in remote areas of the Northeast and Soldiers in extreme weather conditions at our borders. He emphasized Communication through satellite-enabled telemedicine nodes which will be a paradigm shift in the delivery of lifesaving health care. In a major effort to improve emergency medical support to soldiers posted in high-altitude areas, especially Siachen. The event was received with great enthusiasm by the students. The Vice Principal of the school, Ms. Binita Jain, expressed her gratitude to Mr. Murthy Remilla for his presence and felicitated him for his contribution to scientific knowledge dissemination. The 2nd RR Das Memorial Inter-School Open Swimming Competition was held at NPS International School on the 7th and 8th of October 2023. A total of 32 participants from our school participated and bagged the awards. Lopa Leena Das of Grade XI secured one Gold Medal in 50m Breaststroke and one Silver Medal in 50m Freestyle. Kavish Bajaj of Grade IV secured the Silver Medal in the 25m Breaststroke. Drishnashree Barman of Grade X secured a Silver Medal in the 50m freestyle. Jagrav Das of Grade XI secured a Silver Medal in 50m Freestyle, 2 Bronze in 100m Individual Medley, and 50m Breaststroke. Sakanilang Siangsai of Grade XI secured Bronze Medal in 50m freestyle.

This year, our school celebrated the occasion with traditional zeal, beginning with a 10 km marathon flagged off by Vice Principal Binita Jain at 5:30 AM. The event started with a homage to Gandhi’s sculpture, followed by a moving song performed by Dean of Activities, Susanta Chowdhury, promoting unity. The Vice Principal highlighted Gandhi’s principles in her speech, emphasizing the significance of October 2nd as “International Non-Violence Day.” The ceremony included a prize distribution, recognizing young participants like Shlok Sonthalia, a grade 2 student who completed the marathon. The occasion led our students to the prestigious Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, a cultural complex in Guwahati, where an event under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organized. This momentous gathering saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Honorable Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, and the Medical Education Minister, Keshav Mahanta. In a remarkable celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the students of Royal Global School, Guwahati, came together to stage a compelling nukkad natak (street play) at City Centre Guwahati on October 1st. This thought-provoking performance was themed around "Swachch Bharat" and aimed to raise awareness about the importance of a clean environment while highlighting the pressing issue of plastic waste. With the powerful slogan, "JAGO ABHI SABH JAGO, BAPU KI DI GAYI SEEKH KO YAAD KARO, SONE KI CHIRIYA HAI YEH DESH HAMARI, SWACHATA HAI PEHCHAAN HAMARI," the students passionately conveyed the message that the dream of a clean and prosperous India, as envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi, is still very much alive and achievable. The nukkad natak, which unfolded at City Centre Guwahati, drew the attention of passersby and shoppers, engaging them in a unique and impactful manner. The students used their talent and creativity to elucidate the significance of a clean environment and the grave threats that plastic waste poses to our planet. The performance featured stirring dialogues, captivating the audience's hearts and minds. It skilfully conveyed the message that every individual has a role to play in maintaining cleanliness and preserving the environment and that small actions can make a big difference. Meri Mati Mera Desh is the finale programme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Commemoration. It envisages paying tributes to all those veers and viranganas who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country. In this regard, Royal Global School arranged various activities for the students in the school campus. A Prabhat pheri was conducted where students carried the National Flag and the participants played Dhol, Nagadas & other musical instruments as per local traditions to create a festive atmosphere. Patriotic songs and the Mitti Anthem created by the Ministry of Culture were played during the Prabhat Pheri.

In a significant stride towards enhancing the quality of foundational stage education, a pilot training program was conducted for 60 teachers from RGS (Royal Global School) and various other educational institutions in Guwahati. The event featured Ms. Sonia Relia, a distinguished author affiliated with Oxford University Press and a seasoned trainer from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), as the resource person. The comprehensive training session aimed to equip educators with a deep understanding of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and its vision for the foundational stage of education. Ms. Sonia Relia masterfully led the session, employing interactive techniques and hands-on activities to engage the teachers actively. The training encompassed vital topics such as effective resource management, strategies to maintain a dynamic and engaged classroom, and a specific focus on Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). One of the primary highlights of the training was a thorough discussion of the Learning Outcomes and Curriculum Goals outlined in NCF 2020. Teachers were encouraged to align their teaching practices with these objectives, ensuring a holistic and goal-oriented approach to education. Perhaps the most significant takeaway from the training was the emphasis on making learning a fun and engaging experience for students, thereby fostering a love for learning from an early age. The event received a motivational boost as Ms. Binita Jain, the school's vice principal, addressed the gathering. She encouraged all the teachers present to implement the innovative ideas and strategies they had acquired during the training in their day-to-day teaching and learning processes, ultimately benefiting their students. Plastics are our silent killers. They create mayhem in our lives; clog drains when we throw them callously all around thereby causing artificial floods in the vicinity. Marine lives are affected when thrown in the water. They are non-biodegradable so when thrown on the ground, affect the soil and make soil infertile thereby hampering agricultural productivity. Royal Global School has been relentlessly trying to sensitize its students about the harmful effects of plastic and the SDG goals are being inculcated too. The school has further branched out by being a part of the Swacch School and Swacch Shehar program. In tandem with the school's goal of making the school a plastic-free zone the Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation Mr. MN Dahal and the members of the Akshar Foundation were invited to address the students. The school's Ripple Effect community presented a presentation on the activities undertaken by them to make one aware of the menace of plastic. The club brought to the forefront the deadly impact of microplastic which has even entered the human bloodstream. The club has asked its members to collect plastic and do their bit by making the school a plastic-free zone. The commissioner addressed the August gathering by informing them about the waste garbage dump of Guwahati piling up and the challenges being faced in handling it. He further informed the students that plastic is man-made and was supposed to be a boon to society. But after the invention of single-use plastic, it has created havoc in our ecosystem. He said he was given a cleaner word which in turn has turned into a dirtier world now. And so, he asked the students not to generate plastic waste, which can be done by not buying plastic things that are not essential. To make the world a better place he asked the students to bring the plastic things to school and the school will send it to a place where a proper use of the unused plastics can be done. He reminded them about the three R's: Reduce, Recycle, Reuse He reiterated that the environment belongs to us and all of us should do our bit to take care of it. He further told the students that where the elders have failed miserably the young students have the superpower to bring in the change to make Guwahati a cleaner city. On 24th August, 2023, Mr. Mazin Mukhtar, Co-Founder, Akshar Foundation, addressed the senior wing Assembly on the importance of plastic segregation and recycling. He laid emphasis on the dangers of micro plastics in today’s environment. The session was an informative eye opener for all , especially because the focus was about learning to accept plastic as a precious resource for varied use since most of it can be recycled. We can never get rid of all the plastic in the world, but we can definitely reduce the amount of plastic thrown in the garbage through our collective efforts and transform them into usable commodities.
On 23rd September 2023, 30 Royalites commenced their IAYP Adventurous Journey Trip To Bogamati, Assam. The young adventurists settled in their respective tents and gathered themselves in 5 groups of 6 members each and the groups zip-lined and crossed the river to reach the village. The students interacted with the villagers in Assamese and Boro language. The students asked them about their occupations, awareness about various government schemes, use of modern-day medicines, agricultural practices, educational facilities available, the harmonious blend of their existence with wild animals, etc. to understand and analyze their lives. The students had a meditation session with the Yoga Instructor, who happens to be a Guinness Book Record holder. Later in the evening the teachers and the trainers started on a special night trek and the group enjoyed and explored the forest, marvelling at the stillness of the night, which was broken by the gentle sound of the river flowing by the chirping of the crickets. At the same time, their path was lit by the soft glow of the moon and fireflies. After returning to the campsite, the students were served a flavourful and healthy dinner to build up their stamina, after which a bonfire was lit, and the students enjoyed marshmallows and dry snacks they had brought along. The next day students set out on an early morning walk near the river to see the sunrise. The group went for a hike and were thrilled at the sights and sounds they experienced. A peacock flew by; elephant footprints were spotted along with those of wild boars. They clicked pictures collected rocks, and learned from the guides about the vegetation, the terrain, and Indo-Bhutan passages. Thereafter the groups then went rafting which for at least 2 hours including the training session; and zip line activity alternatively. The Superb 30 completed all the activities successfully under the special care of Mrs.Suman Bhuyan, Award Leader, IAYP accompanied by Mr.Shimanta Das, and the adventure sports trainers. The group assembled at the main ground of the campsite for the prize distribution and departure. The awards were distributed to the best group and the student for their exceptional excellence throughout. The best camper was awarded to Lakshya Agarwal (Grade 12A) of Ocean’s 6, and the best group was awarded to group 7/11 for their unity, co-ordination, and punctuality, comprising of Dishashree Barman(Grade 12G), Diti Kashyap(Grade 10E), Preety Akond(Grade 10B), Priyanka Basumatary(Grade 12G) Siddha Ghosh(Grade 12G), and Triparna Bordoloi(Grade 12D). The group's arrival at the RGS campus marked the end of an unforgettable adventure. Stepping onto the campus, their hearts overflowed with emotions and fond memories. The journey had been extraordinary, taking them through uncharted territory, forging deep bonds, and leaving them with cherished memories.

This sentiment resonated profoundly at Royal Global School as we celebrated Grandparents Day, taking all in attendance on a heartwarming trip down memory lane to the groovy era of the 80s. The event kicked off with a beautiful and symbolic gesture: the lighting of the lamp, signifying the illumination of wisdom and love that grandparents bring into our lives. Our Vice Principal Ms. Binita Jain expressed in her speech the value and wisdom the grandparents of today’s generation bring into the lives of their little ones, but with flexibility, keeping in mind the changing times. The atmosphere was further enriched by the sweet voices of the little ones as they recited shlokas, showcasing the rich cultural heritage that grandparents often pass down to their grandchildren. As the celebration continued, the auditorium came alive with the timeless hits of Bonny M, Bollywood classics, and soulful Assamese melodies. The children, brimming with enthusiasm, tapped their feet and swayed to the music, bringing a burst of energy reminiscent of the vibrant 80s. Music has the incredible power to bridge generations, and it was heartening to witness grandparents and their grandchildren bonding over songs that spanned decades. One of the most touching moments of the event was when the children took the stage to sing their hearts out for their beloved grandparents. With innocence in their voices and love in their hearts, they conveyed just how much their grandparents meant to them. The audience was also entertained with a musical quiz of the 80s Era which they enjoyed thoroughly. Amidst the music and the performances, what truly stole the show were the grandparents themselves. They shared their thoughts and feelings about the joys of being a grandparent. It was evident that being a grandparent was a role they cherished deeply. They expressed their gratitude towards the school for nurturing and nourishing their children. In conclusion, Grandparents Day at Royal Global School was not just an event; it was a celebration of the enduring love, wisdom, and connection that grandparents bring to our lives.
A day to be reckoned, 5th September! A day that will be etched in our memory for a long time. The day began with the teachers decked in their finery, a beaming smile adorning their faces as the students greeted them on their special day. This year RGS had a masquerade-themed celebration. The faculty members were escorted by the students to the Colosseum which had a magical ambience. Then the stage came alive when the students from all sections - Primary, Middle, and Senior Secondary performed with gusto for their dear teachers. The performances were eclectic, enchanting, and mesmerizing. The grand finale was when the students got a DJ and it was time to let one's hair down and groove to the foot-tapping numbers. The day came to an end with a sumptuous lunch. The Prefect council along with the school authorities put in a lot of thought to make the special day for teachers memorable.
The INTACH HERITAGE QUIZ, 2023 regional level was conducted in Royal Global School this month. Thirty-six teams comprising of seventy-two members participated in this event from across the region. The event began with an introductory speech by Ms. Pooja Bhattacharjee followed by an enlightening speech by Swapnanil Baruah, retired IAS Officer. The Quiz Master for the day was Ms. Sangeeta Bhattacharjee who made the session very informative and led the students to brainstorm on each and every question. The preliminary round was a written round out of which 5 teams were selected for the finals. Among the five competent teams, 2 teams became the finalists who will be representing the state in the next level. The winners were Prabhanshu Sekhar Koushik and Partha Pratim of Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya whereas the team which stood second was Prarthana Choudhury and Suzaana Tanvir from Faculty Higher Secondary School. All the teams showcased their enthusiasm and gave their best. It was a great learning experience for each and every one.
In celebration of Sanskrit Diwas, Royal Global School had held a special assembly. The cultural program featured mesmerizing Sanskrit songs and dances, showcasing the vibrant and melodious aspects of the language. Students also recited poems, demonstrating their linguistic skills and creativity.
“To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.” Royal Global School was graced by the presence of Ms. Santa Sharma, Runners Up, Master Chef India, Season 7. She addressed the senior school students, started her speech in a zestful manner, and shared several anecdotes from her personal life. In her speech, she shared that she lost her mother at a very tender age and since her father was into service, she had to take care of a pair of siblings. She started cooking at eight. Amid all the hardship she successfully completed her graduation. She had always been eager to take up a job but had seen multiple failures in this sector. Finally, she decided to web search for recipes and learn more about Assamese cuisine. Her sole motive had then become to promote the Assamese food culture. She has always believed that her determination is her strength and has always taken motivation from nature. She has learned to focus on what she has rather than on what she doesn’t. Failures, experience, time management, and confidence have always been her motto. Her four-and-a-half-month journey with the Master Chef team is evidence of her determination. The program was followed by a question-answer session where she catered to the queries of the children. She also shared the secret to her success in Master Chef, which is- Assamese sushi and Masor tenga. The session ended with a heart-warming revelation by our Vice Principal ma’am, where she shared about the demise of Ms Sharma’s mother-in-law, on the day of her victorious return, which was a lesson for the children to be a flick of flame in the midst of a hurricane.
Meeting of leading psychologists with budding psychologists. The first series of its unique kind was held with great zeal and enthusiasm on the premises of Royal Global School on 26/8/23. The speakers were Aruna Sarawgi (Rehabilitation Psychologist, Career Counsellor, Relationship Counsellor), Nikita Hazarika (Clinical Psychologist, Founder of Ashwas Mental Health, Guwahati, Assam) and Dhritismita Bora (Dance Movement Facilitator). “Three powerful ladies” as quoted by Vice Principal Maam Binita Jain were there to create Impact in the young minds. The first speaker, Aruna Sarawgi began the session with a relaxation exercise and then took forward the session while sharing her job responsibilities as a Relationship Counsellor while stressing the need to share and care. She also shared with the children about Career Counselling where she took them on the journey of self-exploration. She developed an insight into the importance of Rehabilitation Counselling. The second speaker Nikita Hazarika shared her journey of becoming a Clinical Psychologist. She initiated the session while asking each one of them how they were feeling at that moment. She stressed that her determination and passion made her cross the obstacles and challenges ahead. The third speaker Dhritismita Bora shared her conflicts and the confused state of mind she had to undergo while choosing her career. Beautifully she expressed through her gestures and postures the importance of dance therapy. Enormous queries on the part of children, and excitement on their faces showed the impact this workshop has created. Also, the room was lit with creativity at its best with the art-integrated learning exhibits by dear budding psychologists. Class 11 made their exhibits on the Developmental stages, while Class 12 depicted their personality traits.
A healthy outside starts from the inside…” Cooking with kids is a perfect time to bond with them, it not only creates interest in their culinary skills but also harnesses imagination and empowers creativity. Keeping this in mind, the teachers and the management of Royal Global School conducted a Parent and Child fireless cooking competition on the 26th of August,2023, an event celebrating good food and mindful eating called "Eat Q" (cooking without fire). The parent-child duo participated with full gusto and produced a cornucopia of recipes that were not only scrumptious and finger-licking good but healthy and nutritious as well. The judges for the competition were Ms. Santa Sarma, Runner-up of MasterChef India, Season 7, Ms. Ruchi Bharadwaj Barah, nutrition and fitness consultant, and Ms. Sweta Himmatsingka, dietician and nutritionist. The delicious dishes of the children and the involvement of the parents made judging a difficult task. The criteria for judging were nutritional value, presentation, and child involvement. The best entries were awarded with certificates and gift hampers. The Vice Principal of the school, Ms. Binita Jain thanked the parents and children for their efforts and congratulated the event in-charges for the smooth execution of the event.
One of the famous quotes of Mother Teresa was truly reflective of today’s celebration of her birthday (26/8/23). In spite of rain throughout the day, Royalites patiently waited for the rain to halt. Eagerly ran to lit the candles along with Vice Principal Binita Jain Maam and sang hymns. Binita Maam said in her message, “She treated everyone with kindness, respect, and love. So dear children try to live with her values and be contended in life. She quoted her words, "The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved." Education is not what one learns within the four walls of a classroom. It is the application of the concepts learned to make amazing models and projects that are usable and useful in daily life. This was very well demonstrated by the budding scientists of Royal Global School through their exhibits displayed at the Science Exhibition held in the school campus on 18.09.2023. Each participant from grade 2 onwards created their models and projects around a theme, the main being Sustainable goals which the school is working on. There were an array of models and projects like how to Conserve Natural resources, Human Physiology, Interaction between Biotic and abiotic components, how used paper is recycled and made into new paper, Hydraulic crane, Solar City, a Sustainable village, Manual robot car, Hydraulic lift, Newton's cradle, Cell as a chemical factory, a Smart City and many more. The highlight of the exhibition was Chandrayaan 3. All the aspects of Chandrayaan 3 starting from what was required to make Chandrayaan 3 till it was thrusted into space was very well projected. The chemical aspect was based on the sustainable goal 12 and it showcased what was used like: Kevlar, Ablative materials, Titanium alloys, Thermal insulators etc. The next step dealt with the evolution aspect, from Chandrayaan 1 to 3. Then there was the Physical aspect that was very detailed. The last stage was the trajectory that showed how Chandrayaan 3 was thrust into space. The STEM lab of the school had some spectacular displays like the power generator, Evolution of Energy Generation, Mechanical drawing system, Fire fighter’s eye, Sign language push up detector using python, Line following robots, Laser security system and a waste segregation model. Students from other schools across Guwahati also witnessed and participated with lot of enthusiasm in this event. It was an engaging and enriching experience for all the students and parents as the participants explained what it entailed to make their projects and how their projects function! The inclination of the students towards science was evident as they explained their projects in depth, delved into the minutest details and had really worked very hard on their models.
On 17th August 2023 a team of 6 students of Grade 7, along with their escort teacher Mahua G. Kanungoe left for Varanasi to attend the prestigious Round Square Conference 2023 hosted by the Sunbeam School, Lahartara from 17th to 21st of August. Day 1 began with an introductory speech followed by a presentation on Varanasi -“The City of Light”. The day culminated with a musical orchestra by the students followed by a scrumptious dinner. On Day 2 the 31 schools across India and abroad hoisted their respective school flags with pride. The show stopper was the “Round Square: Heroes of Discovery” performed by pre-primary students, dressing up as the heroes. The Conference had an array of keynote speakers like Mr. Pratish Nair – Managing Director and co-founder of – Prahlad Kakkar, School of Branding and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Vinay Mahajan in "Music Shaping Leadership Ethos, the puppet show by Doll's Theatre, Kolkata. The Baraza sessions were the attractions for the Conference where participants got a platform to discuss inspirational poems by great writers on all four days. Day 3 marked the visit to the historic Sarnath and the one and only Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies where we were blessed by the words of the Vice Chancellor Dr. Wangchuk Dorjee Negi. It was followed by the keynote address by Mr. Tenzin Tsundue—a Tibetan writer and activist. An interactive session by Mr. Mukherjee took place on How to See a City Through its Spaces. Special interest sessions followed by a showcase of Kathakali Dance Drama by Mr. Dibyendu Tarafder. Day 4 started off with a keynote address on leadership by Mr. Kannan Gireesh- Founder and CEO of Live life Education whose words touched the hearts of many leaving all teary-eyed.'Satya ki Pratiroop 'by the Ishara Puppet Theatre of Padmashree Dadi Pudumjee left us spellbound. Day 5 highlights were the cultural performances by all the participating schools. The Royal Global School team presented the traditional folk dance 'Bihu' and a special dance on skates by Mehal Agarwal that fetched a lot of appreciation. The Conference culminated with a final open Baraza where everyone shared their perspectives on how the Baraza sessions gave them an opportunity to express themselves. It was indeed a great learning experience for all the students and teachers. This Conference gave our kids a strong platform to Dream, Believe, and Achieve.
Another ANTARPRERNA session featured Shri Bimal Oswal, CEO of Rhino Research Products, Dhubri. Shri Oswal shared his entrepreneurial journey with the students. He explained how important it is to be an entrepreneur and how the Nation would benefit. He also spoke on Business ethics. He also answered the questions raised by the students. It was an excellent interactive session.
A retraining session for School Bus Drivers, Helpers, and Attendants was successfully organized by the DTO Enforcement, Kamrup Metro, and DTO Traffic, Kamrup Metro at the school premises on 14 August 2023. Participants received comprehensive updates on safety protocols, traffic regulations, and expected codes of conduct. The event proved to be highly valuable, offering attendees an opportunity to review and enhance their skill set.
We are all unique and individual in our own way. We have our own preferences and our likes and dislikes. But yet in spite of our diversity, we all have a right to live with dignity and respect. This was very well presented by the Rainbow Club of Royal Global School through an endearing and heart-touching enactment about the 3rd gender. The actors could drive home the point that we as a society should be more accepting of other's preferences; be kind and generous and not be judgemental.
Royal Global School has started a noble initiative of Royal Vastraseva as a step to contribute and help the people in need which builds a temperament of service before self among the students. Under this initiative, the students of Royal Global School along with their educators visited Ila Snehalaya, Betkuchi on 24th June 2023 where they distributed the clothes that were donated by the students of Royal Global School. They spent quality time interacting with the children of the orphanage.
June 21, the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere known as the Summer Solstice is also celebrated as the International Yoga Day. Royal Global School Guwahati celebrated this day with the entire school participating in performing Yog asanas. There was an ambience of calm and tranquility that prevailed in the school as the entire RGS fraternity followed the Yoga coach Jayesh who began by invoking God's blessings. The school corridors were bustling with activities as the young students performed Surya Namaskar and other Asanas in perfect sync. These activities are done in the school to enable the students to realise the importance of Yog in everyone's daily life. They are encouraged to incorporate Yog as it calms the soul and heals the body.

Binita Jain (Vice Principal), and Sushanta Chaudhry (Dean of Activities) paid homage while offering flowers, followed by a borgeet by the Arts and Music faculty. Considered a doyen of the Culture of Assam, the Assamese people affectionately call him Kalaguru (meaning: "the master of the arts"), Sainik Silpi (sainik "soldier", silpi "artist") for his active participation in the armed struggle, led by the Revolutionary Communist Party of India (RCPI). Bishnu Prasad was an established singer. The relevance of the ideals of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, the musical and artistic genius who transcended man-made barriers to unite diverse communities was remembered by staff and students fondly.
In a celebration that embraced both Father's Day and the principles of environmental responsibility, fathers and their children were invited to participate in a unique event. This special occasion provided an opportunity to honor fathers while encouraging them to explore their creativity and contribute to a sustainable future. Guided by the three R's of Environment Day - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle - the fathers and children enthusiastically embarked on a mission to transform trash into extraordinary creations. With unwavering zeal and enthusiasm, fathers joined forces with their children to utilize waste materials to create magnificent works of art. This collaborative effort not only showcased their creativity but also strengthened the bond between fathers and children, emphasizing the power of shared experiences and the potential for beauty within discarded items. The Investiture Ceremony of the academic session 2023, Royal Global School was commemorated on 17 June with great dignity at the school auditorium. The ceremony was administered by Chief Guest, Kumar Padmapani Bora (Indian Revenue Service Officer, author, motivational speaker, and columnist), Executive V President & GSF Mr. Ankur Pansari, Professor Dr. SP Singh, Members of the management Ms. Shikha Modi & Ms. Harsha Pansari. The program was indeed a platform to appreciate leadership qualities. The ceremony began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp to illuminate each mind before the commencement of the program. It was followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana, the all-faith prayer, and a dance performance by the students depicting the different cultural styles of dance across the country. The elected members of the council were then pledged and conferred with the badges and sashes by the Vice Principal of the school and the Chief Guest. In their respective speeches, the Vice Principal, Royal Global School, congratulated the cabinet members for their exemplary qualities and also made an appeal to serve the entrusted powers and learn from their failures. The Vice-Chancellor, RGU, addressed the gathering by congratulating the newly constituted cabinet members and advising them to be the epitome of responsibilities that would be an identity of the institution. He also made a mention that the teachers have chosen the best and it is now their authority to live up to it and not hesitate to take up any ‘thankless job’. The Chief Guest in his speech enchanted the audience by narrating stories that cheered the hearts of the children as they could relate to the life lessons that he was trying to convey. At the end of the program, the council took their pledge to hold the school motto, responsibilities, and reputation in high esteem. The program ended by honoring the nation as everyone stood up to the singing of the National Anthem.
