Ritisha Mayra Rajbongshi secured the 15th Position in the National School Chess Championship 2023 held at Tamilnadu. She is the only female player from Assam and has made us immensely proud.
Satras are institutional centers associated with the Ekasarana tradition of Vaishnavism, largely found in the Indian state of Assam. These centers are generally independent of each other and under the control of individual adhikaras. These centers, at the minimum, maintain a prayer house (Namghar, or Kirtan-ghar), initiate laypeople into the Ekasarana tradition and include them as disciples of the Satra from whom taxes and other religious duties are accepted. Department of Assamese of RGS organized an educational trip to the famous Auniati Satra of North Guwahati. The students took part in the puwa naam. They visited the museum of the satra where they were able to observe numerous artefacts belonging to the satras' rich history.
Playing is our brain's favorite way of learning. Children learn as they engage in play, most importantly - in play, art and fun... children actually learn how to learn! As we came to the closure of Scintillating Saturdays - The Royal Caravan, the parents along with their children involved in mindful and fun-filled activities. The parents began by jotting a thoughtful letter for their beloved children. It was followed by stencil art, clay modeling, showcasing their creativity through craft work, and fun-filled games. It was indeed a delightful sight to observe a joyful parent-child collaboration and gave the Scintillating Saturdays a lovely and meaningful end!

Royal Global School celebrated Republic Day with a lot of patriotic fervour. The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolour which was accompanied by a soulful flute recital. This was followed by the march past by the school contingent. The students spell bounded everyone through a creative dance drama. The immensely talented students sang a patriotic song. The audience was captivated by their melodious rendition. The program ended with a dance recital. The graceful dancers mesmerized the gathering with their flawless performance. It was Saraswati Puja too, after the Republic Day celebrations everyone was transported to a spiritual world with the pujari of the school chanting mantras to appease the Goddess of Learning. It was a lovely day that ended with everyone partaking in the delicious and mouth-watering Khichidi!
Sanskriti- The History and Heritage Club of Royal Global School conducted Virasat Volumes Lecture Series 5 on 23rd January 2023. The topic was on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and World War II in North East India. The speaker for the day was Dr. Jahnu Bharadwaj who explained the importance of INA and North East India in the 2nd World War. The session was very informative and interesting.

Shilpi Divas, a significant day in Assam was celebrated in RGS today. It was 17th January when Jyoti Prasad Agarwala passed away in 1951 at the age of 49 years which is celebrated as Shilpi Divas. Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala paved the way for future artists in a variety of areas of culture, including theatre, literature, filmmaking, lyrics, music composition, etc. Our Principal garlanded the bust of Late Agarwala followed by Jyoti Sangeet and instrumental presentation by the students of RGS. The grand daughter in law of Mr. Agarwala, Ms. Loya Agarwala graced the occasion by her speech.

If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”-Dalai Lama Bihu-the festival of harvest saw love being spread all around by the students of Royal Global School. On the 13th of January, 2023 ,the students of Royal Global School decided to share a part of their happiness with the inmates of Helping Hand Old-age Home. The students of Grade 9C and 9E accompanied by their class teachers Bidisha Dutta and Upasana Chowdhury visited the Helping Hand Old-age Home as part of their Pre-Bihu celebration. The students participated in the process passionately. They carried with them grocery items and other required goods for the people there. The children also distributed Laru and Pitha amongst the inmates. They listened to the tragic stories that left the students disheartened but at the same time they tried their best to spread love and happiness among the people. The students sang songs to them and even shaked their legs to a few Bihu songs. The inmates of the house thoroughly enjoyed the presence of the kids. They were almost in tears when the children called them “koka” and “aaita”. The visit to the Old-age Home was a different kind of experience altogether for the kids which could inculcate in them the sense of love, compassion and responsibility towards their fellow beings.
Royal Global School celebrated Magh Bihu also known as Bhogali Bihu with a lot of fanfare and religious fervour today. The program started by invoking God's blessings through a melodious Naam that set the mood for the programmes that followed. There was a scintillating dance performance by the graceful dancers of Junior and Senior school that enchanted and mesmerized the gathering. An enactment showcased how Magh Bihu is celebrated; the rituals that are observed. Everyone was delighted when the Principal of the school Mr. Sanjay Tiwari addressed in Assamese. The burning of the Meji, a very important ritual of Magh Bihu was performed. Before going back to their classes everyone enjoyed the delicious laru - pitha and the Bihu celebrations came to an end with happy, contented and smiling children who thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
As the celebrations of the New Year continues, we present to you our first batch of RGS Student Ambassador Programme for peace and humanity to set foot in the Radio Gupshup 94.3 FM office as they embark on a brand-new journey in their creative endeavors. Radio offers students a voice and empowerment to discuss the issues that matter to them. It builds confidence and develops their speaking and listening skills. In this age, when everything has gone digital and our concentration span has decreased, listening to the radio not just evokes a sense of nostalgia but also restores peace and applies a momentary brake on our fast-paced lives. Students of commerce stream visited the Brahmaputra Industrial Park in Amingaon for a one-day industrial tour. They stopped at Kishley, a factory that produces Namkeen and snacks under the brand name NON STOP, and Jericho, a chemical plant that manufactures detergent powder. During the tour, the students were given a thorough explanation of the manufacturing processes at both factories.
As part of Unity Flame Run, the Eastern Flame Run was flagged in at Narengi, Guwahati. Here are a few glimpses of the event, '75 years Of Rising Of NCC' held at Narengi Army Camp on 04/01/2023 where Chief Guest Mr. Anand Mishra (IPS officer) inaugurated by flagging off the starting of the event (Guwahati to Dhubri, covering a distance of 230kms) and also motivated the students with a wonderful speech. 20 NCC cadets from our school ran along with Sub Charanjit Singh in Guwahati ushered by over 150 NCC cadets throughout the route. It was amazing site to witness civilians along with all NCC Cadets shouting Bharat Mata ki Jai slogans enroute displaying their patriotism and respect for the organization. Our school cadet Miss Debangi Jalan of Class IX hosted the whole event very successfully and also was appreciated by Mr Anand Mishra himself.
