The Annual Sports for students of Grades II to V was held on 31st January at the Royal Garden. The program commenced with the Marching in of the students led by the Placard holders dressed in the traditional attire of the North - East which was followed by the hoisting of the School flag by the Chief Guest Ms. Nandita Garlosa, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Assam. The guests of honour were Dr. Debanga Sarma and Dr. Vaishali Sarma who are our esteemed parents.
The unbridled energy of the young participants was infectious. Dressed in the vibrant hues of the colours representing the four houses, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Tagore and Vivekananda they were ready to be a part of the Gala event. The Sports Captain of the School Ankit Yadav read out the report about the Sports events and achievements during the year.
The agenda was brimming with an array of events like track & field competitions and races for the parents . There was Yoga to calm the soul, rhythmic gymnastics that captivated the audience, Taekwondo performance by the students of Grades III that enchanted the gathering. There was the young jockey Jay Vardhan of Grade V in his majestic horse Lamark who cast a spell on the audience with his horse riding skills. Then was an Aerobic performance by the students of Grades II that dazzled and a colourful mass drill by the 5th graders that mesmerized one and all.
The Chief Guest appreciated the parents for supporting the young students as they pursue their love for sport as she says that sports makes one disciplined. Her ideas were echoed by the Director of Royal Global School, Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay who appreciated the students for the hard work that they have put in. Sports is an integral part of the RGS curriculum, he said as it helps in developing life skills and in creating well rounded individuals. He concluded his speech by saying that every goal gained and every medal won is a step towards becoming a better individual.
Royal Global School Guwahati celebrated the 76th Republic Day with the theme "Swarnim Bharat - Virasat aur Vikas" with a lot of patriotism. The program commenced with unfurling of the Tricolour by the Chief Guest Shri M. L. Agarwalla. Shri Agarwalla, an entrepreneur and a philanthropist, is a founder of Royal Global School and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Royal Group. A soulful flute rendition played in the background while the flag was rising to all its glory. This was followed by the National Anthem and a March Past of the School contingent and the Security contingent, marching to Saare Jahan Se Aacha.
The Masters of the ceremony were two primary school children, Vriddhi Chamaria and Vansh Garodia, both from grade 5. India's unity in diversity was displayed by the Faculty members of the school. Dressed in the colourful attires of the varied Indian regions they sang a melodious patriotic song.
The Declamation took us back memory lane as the young students delivered memorable speeches of Rani of Jhansi , Swami Vivekananda ,Bal Gangadhar Tilak , Sarojini Naidu, Subhash Chandra Bose,Dr.BR Ambedkar with elan. The skit " The Dawn of the Nation " showcased one of the aspects of making of the Indian Constitution . The mesmerizing dance by the Faculty members and students was a befitting end to this auspicious occasion.
The Principal Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda asked everyone to lead the children through a process of Digital detox. Time to respond and not to react has come he reiterated. The Director Dr.Arup Kumar Mukhopadhyay informed the august gathering about the significance of 26th January and the history of the constitution. He concluded his speech by saying that everyone should work towards the upliftment of the society. The program ended with everyone wishing Republic Day to each other.

The Farewell for the batch of outgoing students 2025 was conducted by Royal Global School, on 18 January, 2025, to honor the departing batch of grade 12. The event was marked by a sense of nostalgia, celebration and good wishes as the school bid farewell to its graduating students. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by the masters of ceremony. The graduating students marched in to the auditorium in an academic procession, carrying the lamp of continuity that marks a symbol of wisdom, tradition and the eternal quest for enlightenment. The Chief Guest of the program was Retd. Air Marshal A. K Gogoi, Proud recipient of the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal. In his speech Air Marshel Gogoi expressed his pleasure and gratitude at the solicitation from the school. He also spoke about the career paths that the children are to follow and about inclusive growth. In his speech he mentioned about the VUCA (Vulnerability, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) World. A mesmerizing Ganesh Vandana was performed by Laxmipriya and Sanvi Agarwal.
In an incomparable speech, The Chairman Dr. A. K Pansari, made special mention about few of the parents in the auditorium and thanked the Chief Guest for his benign presence. In his speech he quoted ‘Chanakya’ and admonished to custom an objective in each mind to take care of the society. The Director, RGS, Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay urged the children to try and never fail to prosper. He offered his best wishes to the children and also bid them good bye and good luck for their imminent life ahead. His words of wisdom will leave an indelible mark on the children as well as the parents. Principal Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda explicated motivational Sanskrit sloks from the Upanishads that truly left the audience enthralled. The speeches by the Head Boy and the Head Girl are also worth stating too.
The program concluded with the Valedictory session for the board appearing students and the handing of the lamp of continuity to the Head Boy and the Head Girl of the session 2025-26. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem to mark the presence of reverence, pride and unity in each present in the auditorium.

The occasion provided students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Jyotiprasad Agarwala's legacy and his pivotal role in shaping the identity of Assamese cinema.
The event featured a rendition of a soulful song and a poem recitation by the students, showcasing their artistic talents and connecting them to the rich cultural heritage of Assam. Magh Bihu or Bhogali Bihu, the harvest festival of Assam was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm by the students of Royal Global School. The festive fervour came alive with the stage adorned with a 'Bhela ghor ' . To complement it there was a ' magi ' too nearby.
The program commenced with an Assamese Poem recitation on Magh Bihu by Sailadhar Rajkhowa. A skit showcased how the days leading upto Bihu is utilised by the Assamese community keeping themselves busy by preparing varied delicacies, feasting and merry making. The culmination of Bihu is when the 'Meji' is burned the next day early morning.
The stage came alive when the young students of grades V and VI danced gracefully mesmerizing the gathering with their graceful moves.
The Principal of the school Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda and the Director Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay delighted everyone by addressing everyone in Assamese and greeted the students on the occasion of Magh Bihu.
The program came to an end with the burning of the 'meji' and then the students were fed 'Laru and Pitha' which are a part Assamese delicacies.
The inaugural season of the Royal Premier League (RPL), a 7-a-side cricket tournament, concluded with great success, leaving a lasting impression on both players and spectators. Organized by the enthusiastic Grade 11 students on the 4th and 5th of January 2025, the tournament celebrated not just cricket but the spirit of teamwork, competition, and leadership.
The RPL was designed with a clear objective: to provide budding cricketers an opportunity to showcase their sporting skills and experience the adrenaline rush of competitive matches. The tournament also encouraged players to learn the art of handling pressure—an essential quality for any athlete aiming to excel in the sport.
This ambitious initiative brought together 96 players, selected through a thrilling auction process from a pool of 120 registered participants. The auction added an exciting layer to the tournament as team captains carefully assembled their squads, blending talent and strategy.
Over two action-packed days, the tournament witnessed 15 matches, each brimming with energy, skill, and determination. Players, supported by roaring cheers from their peers, put on an impressive display of cricket.
The final match was nothing short of spectacular, as Team Knight Strikers, led by Naiteek Agarwal, clashed with Royal Achievers, captained by Naitik Sharma. In a nail-biting finish, the Knight Strikers emerged as champions, securing victory by a margin of 9 runs. Their strategic game play and sheer determination under pressure turned the tide in their favor.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the Principal and Head of Sports honored the winners. Their words of encouragement and appreciation inspired the players to continue striving for excellence, both on and off the field.
The RPL’s debut season has undoubtedly set the stage for more such events in the future. It has proven to be a fantastic initiative, not just for promoting cricket but also for fostering qualities like teamwork, leadership, and resilience among students.
