Education Eminence 2022 , an event organized by NEWS 18 network highlighted the importance and implementation of NEP in Assam. The program was attended by many schools and universities of Assam and Meghalaya. A panel discussion by eminent speakers from the Educational field, followed by extempore and debate by students from school to college level was showcased. The highlight of the function was the Award ceremony. Shri Ranoj Pegu , Education Minister of Assam gave away award to different schools and Universities based on various criteria. We are proud to announce that Royal Global School also bagged an award for Best school in providing Campus and Academic Facitilies in Assam.
"Art and activities in the classroom not only spurs creativity and enlightenment, but also inspires learning." As the mercury is rising high and to cater to the complete comfort of our young minds, this Saturday started with lot of zeal and enthusiasm in our school campus. The students were geared up and were looking forward for various activities that educate, brighten and enlighten the young brilliant minds. Since May 28th, 2022 was yet another round of No Bag Day, Royal Global School came up with a variety of activities for class VIII children. This week the activities were based on trying their hands on designing their ownT-shirts and handkerchiefs with Tie and Dye method, where our educator Ms Deepa Choudhury taught them everything about it. It was an amazing activity where children enjoyed it to the fullest. There was yet another round of Poem Recitation Competition, Shlok Recitation and Word designing workshop too. The day ended up with an orientation programme on Mythology of Assam, where the resource person Ms Gitarthi Goswami enlightened the young minds with all the facts of Assam. It was truly an amazing day and a fruitful "No Bag Day
The Social Outreach Club of the school- UTSARGA had organized a visit to the adopted village at Nortap, Sonapur on 28th May 2022 to observe the World Menstrual Hygiene Day. The club had initiated the " Bleeding with Dignity" campaign to create awareness amongst the women of the Nortap village about Menstrual Hygiene.The students presented a Nukkad Natak to create this awareness about Menstrual Hygiene.The students discussed the importance of using sanitary pads and answered to their queries too. Sanitary pads were distributed to the ladies present for the occassion. They were accompanied by the club coordinator Mrs. Mahua Guha Kanungoe, and Mrs. Geetanjali Goswami.
"Respect for food is a respect for life, for what we are and what we do!" To sensitise the young minds of our students the school has organised a field trip to The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Guwahati on 27th May 2022(Friday) for the students of Grade II. The students were enlightened to be able to peek into the activities of the kitchen, and the various practices followed by them inside the kitchen with regards to the cleanliness, maintenance, quality checks, where they offer some variety along with nutrition. After visiting the kitchen, the students went for prayer at the temple and had the 'prasad' thereafter. The students had an enriching experience about food and hygiene and how different people are involved in helping and serving others. It also evoke a sense of responsibility and humanity in the young minds.
Education gained inside a classroom is always considered to be beneficial. But using what was learned in the classroom and applying it to real-world experiences is the most robust – and valuable education. To expand the knowledge gained from Chapter 11 Marketing into action , students of Grade XII D and E came up with the Eats and Beats fair under the supervision of their subject teacher,Seema Barooah .This opportunity gave the students hands on experience relating to different concepts of marketing like deciding on a product, brand name, packaging, labelling, promotion in addition to learning the concept of teamwork, co-ordination and the various functions of management. The ribbon cutting was done by the Chief Guest,Anubha Goyal Ma'am and Lighting of the lamp was done by our Chief Administrator, Pandey sir, Principal Ma'am, Vice Principal Ma'am and Headmistress Ma'am. The event was such a success that the stalls ran out of products during the long break,a tsunami of hungry customers swept away the yumilicious treats from almost all the stalls within half an hour or so.The students had fun but most importantly they learned much more than what is written in the books. The proceeds from the sales will be used for charity, mainly plan is to construct a food station for strays and some amount to be given to Purrpaws Foundation ,an NGO for animal rescue and welfare.

To inculcate the reading habits among the young readers of the school, an initiative has been taken by Royal Global School to acknowledge the most enthusiastic readers among the young readers of Primary Wing. The passionate readers are invited for a Reader’s Appreciation High- tea with the Head of the school, Principal Anubha Goyal ma’am. The first Avid Readers of the session 2022 are – Hitanshi Bajaj (Grade I), Isam R Saikia (Grade II), Khyati Nath (Grade III), Ishita Arora (Grade IV), Jiya Jain (Grade V). On 24th May, these budding readers spent a cozy and informal evening with their beloved Principal Anubha Ma’am where the students enthusiastically discussed with her about the books they read.
Royal Global school today witnessed a very popular and energetic person at the ANTARPRERNA series. It's Retd. Major Gaurav Arya, senior consulting editor of strategic affairs at the Republic Media Network. He is also a writer and a famous public speaker. At RGS , he spoke to the students on integrity, trust, loyalty and responsibility. His inspiring speech on the battle at Rezung - la, was heart moving . His interaction with the students and teachers was very inspiring.
Precelebrations of Biodiversity Day, which falls on 22nd May was marked in the campus of Royal Global School on 21st May. 2022 being observed as "Year of TIGERS" the children were enthusiastic and energetic to show off their talents in the FACE PAINTING competition. Inter House competition was held among the four houses. Four teams from each house participated. They responded in a very thoughtful manner to the various questions being asked by the panel of judges. The day ended with a ray of happiness and contentment on their faces as they made attempt on "Building a shared future for all life" which corresponded with the theme of Biodiversity Day 2022.
For a fast developing country like India, research and development is one of the foundation pillars for the holistic development of the nation. Keeping this in mind, the Indian Institute of Technology steadily works towards the research and development in North-East India and is helping North-East achieve a prominence in global platform. As India celebrates “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” marking 75 years of its independence, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati organized the “North-East Reasearch Conclave” from 20th May-22nd May. The students of Royal Global School, accompanied by the teacher-in-charge Ms. Upasana Chowdhury had the opportunity to be a part of the Take Charge, Royal Society of Chemistry’s Global battery experiment on the second day of the conclave. The students perfomed the experiment under the guidance of the research scholars of IIT Guwahati. It was a great learning experience for the students who were a part of it.

Sunil Kapila, Cyber Security Expert today launched the nationwid #WeThinkDigital campaign at RGS. #WeThinkDigital is a Digital literacy and awareness program to ensure the safety of children in the cyber world. Through various interactive sessions students were made aware of the threats one can face while using social media and other digital platforms such as cyber stalking, cyber grooming, cyber bullying and identity theft. The event concluded with a fun Quiz session where the winners also shared what they learnt through this interactive session.

As a planned activity for the first Saturday of no bag day, the students of all the three sections of Class 6 (A, B &C) went to Pamohi, North Eastern Handicrafts & Handloom Development Corp. Ltd. The students of 6A did pottery making of two different kinds, wheel pottery and slip casting pottery. Each student in the group made two diyas by wheel pottery and one through slip casting pottery.
Everyday is a School Day, however this Saturday it was a No Bag Day. It was a different yet exciting and enriching experience for students as well as teachers. It was time for the students to explore the unexplored world which went to a back seat during pandemic. Although, there were several activities during online teaching learning process also, but to have the confidence and to perform before many in offline is something which has a different experience all together. All the sections of class VIII initiated such activities through Shloka Competition, Word Designing Workshop and English Poem Recitation Competition this Saturday ie., May 14, 2022. The sections were divided into three groups. Students in Group A participated in Shloka Competition, Group B participated in Word Designing Workshop and Group C participated on Poetic Musings- English Poem Recitation Competition. The students were overwhelmed with much zeal and enthusiasm. They enjoyed the No Bag Day!

The first phase of the SEWA project for the session 2022- 2023 was conducted successfully on 14th May, 2022. Students of Class 9D accompanied by their class teacher Pooja Bhattacharjee visited Anandamarga Ashram. It is a home for the orphans as well as under priviledged kids. The students carried with them many food items, stationaries etc. The students as well as the inmates of the Ashram spent a quality time by introducing themselves, playing, dancing and sharing stories. The little kids enthusiastically interacted with the students on various topics like General Knowledge, basic etiquette and moral values. The visit was a huge learning experience for the young citizens and after spending an hour, the students pledge to contribute in their own way towards spreading happiness.
I don't want to protect the environment, I want to create a world where the environment doesn't need protecting. On the 14th May, on a wet and rainy Saturday , inter- section competitions for Grade III, sections A, B, C, and D were held at the 'Rock and roll' room and the ' Colosseum' simultaneously. The competitions held on the day were ' English Poem recitation and ' Come as You Like'. The theme of the event was 'Environment' , and the young ones came clad in elaborate costumes depicting the various hues of nature.The participants spoke passionately on mother nature , the four elements of nature and on myriad environmental issues. The poems recited by the students also conveyed messages on conserving the natural world.
On 14.05.2022 the Vth graders of Royal Global School had an Elocution and a Do as you like competition. Both the events were based on the theme of Environment. The students recited poetry with elan. They selected poems from a plethora of environmental topics like Reduce, Reuse , Recycle and not to use plastic as it harms the environment. For Do as you like , students adhered to the adage that doing what you like gives you happiness. The students danced, recited and spoke about how cutting of trees is harming the environment , how plastic is harming marine life and where there is anger , there is hope too. The students enthralled, mesmerized and got their message across in a very creative and innovative way. These activities are done to enhance the children's Public Speaking skills , to boost their confidence in facing an audience and to be aware of the very vital fact that we have only one Earth and we need to do everything possible to prevent it's further damage.
Costume Clan Contest!
When creativity blends with talent, a new concept of self discovery takes place. "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." - William Shakespeare Colours, attires, new ideas burst forth and produce results which are truly spectacular and scintillating. We had the Costume Clan Contest of Nursery and LKG on 13th of May, 2022. It was a mother and child act, which showcased their creativity and talent. It was an amazing experience where the parents, children and the judges had a memorable time.
A 3-day technical fest name TechMilap was organized by GIMT , Azara from the 12th of May ,2022 to the 14th of May ,2022 in its sprawling campus for the students of Schools, Colleges , Diploma and Engineering Institutes as well as Universities .This event was organized to provide a platform for the students of the region to showcase their technical skills as well as promote the importance of self-learning ,creativity, collaboration, teamwork and the interchange of their ideas and knowledge in various technical fields. With an array of events like the “Robo-Race”, “Robo-War”,“Code-2-win”,“Model-o-Science-a Science Model Competition”, “Poster Competition-Waste to Energy” and many more, the festival became a great platform for the students . RGS also saw an active participation in the festival with 23 student enthusiasts competing actively in different events. Aakshat Gupta of grade 12(Commerce stream) from RGS bagged the 2nd prize for his innovative poster design in the competition, whereas the class 10 team for Robo-Race were fourth in the competition. It was a great learning experience for all who participated in this event.
VIRASAT VOLUMES- LECTURE SERIES#4
Sanskriti- Cultural and Heritage Club of Royal Global School has conducted Virasat Volumes- Lecture Series#4 on 11th May, 2022. To commemorate the 165th Year of The Revolt of 1857 Dr. Uttam Bathari- Associate Professor of Gauhati University addressed the gathering. The program started with a small video presentation. After that our guest speaker enlightened the students with many interesting facts of the revolt. The students also got to know about the courage and sacrifices of the nationalist heroes. It was a great learning experience for the students.
On the 9th of May, Royal Global School celebrated the birth anniversary of one of the most talented poet, playwright, polymath, social reformer and philosopher our country has ever witnessed- RABINDRANATH TAGORE. Born on the 7th of May to a humble family in Kolkata, Tagore showed his love for literature at a very young age. Author of the profoundly sensitive Gitanjali, he is also responsible for giving us our national anthem, Jana Gana Mana. In honour of him and his work , the students of the school sang one of his songs - “ami chini go chini” followed by a recital of the poem - where the mind is without fear. At the end, we all remember him not only for his exceptional work towards literature and our country but also the look behind to the teachings he has left us. “We come nearest to the great when we are great in humility”- Rabindranath Tagore.

Reading books opens our minds to a land of vivid imagination. It helps us understand the world around us and enhances our creative and communication skills. With such objectives in mind, Royal Global School in collaboration with Mindworth Inc organized a two-day workshop on 5th and 6th May 2022, for the senior school students, entitled the READ Program. The READ is a collection of 6 to 8 storybooks curated specially for each student in a specific age group. The Program is a workshop conducted with the aim of making the process of reading more engaging for the students. The first READ Program of 2022 (Senior School), was conducted by eminent Sports journalist and writer Mr. G. Rajaraman. The discussions and the activities centered around the prescribed READ book, ‘A Shot at History: My Obsessive Journey to Olympic Gold’, a 2011 autobiography by Indian Olympic Gold medalist Abhinav Bindra. Students of Grades 9, 10 and 12 participated in the workshop, brought to life by Mr. Rajaraman, who acted as a mentor, opening the minds of the young readers to a plethora of possibilities. He encouraged them to overcome their shyness, get over their apprehensions and communicate freely. The presentation was peppered with lively anecdotes from the resource person’s life, including his various encounters with eminent Sports personalities of our country. Mr. Rajaraman also interacted with the Sports faculty and the Senior School faculty of Royal Global School and shared his experiences. The two-day workshop was an engaging and entertaining exercise providing a respite to the students and teachers alike from daily academics and providing them with an opportunity to communicate their thoughts and ideas in a congenial environment.
Today on 5th May grade 10 D of Royal Global School organized a Euro Fair which was a great success. Being the part of experiential learning the students were given the project to set up a fair based on Europe. It was based on very innovative way of Experiential learning process to inbuilt the history chapter ”Nationalism in Europe “to an amusing activity, the class was divided into 5 teams and each team was very diligent and had been working for more than 2 weeks on it. The class was able to collect sufficient funds with the leading group “LE CITOYEN EXPRESSAR” who were able to earn the highest amount in only a span of 1.5 hours. The students organized European food, beverages, crafts, bookmarks, novels, masks and many more items which would make you feel your presence in a EUROPEAN CITY FAIR inside the ROYAL GLOBAL SCHOOL campus. The class with the fullest joy had decided to donate the money earned to the Purr Foundation (animal shelter) and to the drivers and helpers in our school. The fair was an interesting experience and an enriching activity which included the hard core participation of each member of the class. This activity was a memorable experience for the whole class and would be very beneficial in their school journey.
Today's ANTARPRERNA featured Ms. TRINITY SAIOO, a teacher cum agri social entrepreneur. Ms. Saioo is a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri award 2020. She has set up several self help groups for growing the lakadong variety of turmeric. This variety is world famous because of its high content of curcumin. The farmers have started to reap rich economic benefits from this crop. Her contribution has increased many fold since the time it started in 2016. We had a very informative session conducted by her.
