The Lock Horn Debates held at DPSG offered a remarkable learning experience for the students of RGS. Centered on the motion "This House believes that India should implement a wealth tax on ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs)," the tournament was an exciting opportunity for the RGS team, who emerged as champions. Dhruve Bagri, Yash Chhanjer, and Shanvi Agarwal displayed exceptional debating skills, with their dedication rewarded as they were announced winners. Shanvi’s outstanding performance earned her the Best Speaker award. The team’s strong collaboration and meticulous preparation shone through in their arguments and rebuttals, making their victory well-deserved and memorable. Beyond the thrill of competition, participating in the tournament enriched their public speaking skills and broadened their understanding of relevant socio-economic issues, making it an invaluable experience. The Lock Horn Debates provided an excellent platform for the students to showcase their talents, learn from peers, and emerge as deserving champions.

Diwali, the "Festival of Lights," celebrates the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana, symbolizing the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.

In honor of Dhanteras, the Grade III students organized a special assembly to promote the message of a "Green Diwali, Clean Diwali." The assembly began with a prayer, followed by the chanting of shlokas and their meanings, along with a thought and word for the day. The festive spirit was further enhanced by a soulful group song and a mesmerizing dance performance that filled our hearts with joy. Our esteemed Director Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay and Principal Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda also addressed the gathering, extending warm wishes for a happy and safe Diwali to everyone.

On October 28, 2024, a field trip was organized for the Grade II students to Sualkuchi, renowned as the Manchester of Assam. The primary objective of the trip was to educate and inspire students by introducing them to the various textiles used in creating Assam's traditional attire, the Mekhela Chador.

The students visited two key venues. Their first stop was the Sualkuchi Institute of Fashion Technology, where they observed the intricate processes involved in producing muga, pat, and eri fabrics. Following this, the students explored Bastra Udyan, where they enjoyed the park and participated in a guided museum tour.

This educational excursion was designed to align with the Environmental Studies (EVS) topic, "Types of Clothes." The outing proved to be both enjoyable and informative, as the enthusiastic students gained valuable insights into the techniques involved in fabric production.

A session on "Disability Etiquettes," conducted by Liza Bora a trainer from "Young Indians" was held to sensitize participants about respectful and confident interactions with individuals with disabilities. The session aimed to educate participants on appropriate ways to engage with people with disabilities, encouraging them to question and challenge societal stereotypes and stigmas. This successful session raised awareness and inspired positive change, empowering participants with knowledge and empathy to help create a more inclusive society for all.

A group of ten students from RGS, accompanied by Ms. Bhumika Nath and Ms. Seema Barooah, participated in the Round Square Conference titled "Eleutheria: Liberate the Inner Adventurer" at Sarala Birla Academy, Bangalore. The four-day event, focused on the theme of "Adventure," began with a dynamic ice-breaker session designed to build connections among the delegates.

On the second day, students explored the campus, attended the opening ceremony, and took part in the inaugural Adventure Workshop, where they learned wilderness survival skills. This was followed by the first baraza session and a vibrant musical night featuring Garba dance. RGS student Krishna Narayan received enthusiastic applause for her captivating solo Odissi dance performance.

Day three started with an early morning trek, followed by a full-day outbound program at Area 83, which challenged students' adventurous spirit. The day ended with a formal Principal's Dinner. The final day opened with a spiritual yoga session, followed by "Adventure with Music" activities, tie-dye and pebble art workshops, and the second baraza session.

The conference concluded with a Cultural Night and Closing Ceremony, where RGS students mesmerized the audience with a dance performance paying homage to Assam's diverse tribes. Over the four days, participants embraced a rich blend of adventure, cultural exchange, and personal growth, making it a deeply enriching experience for the RGS delegates.

On October 21st, Royal Global School successfully hosted an Open Day to introduce the Cambridge Early Years Programme affiliation in our new pre-primary section, 'Neev'. The event showcased our warm, nurturing environment, modern facilities, and cutting-edge infrastructure.

The panel discussion featured Cambridge officials, our Director, Principal, and vice-principal. They discussed the importance of early education and Neev's unique approach. Parents clearly understood our Cambridge affiliation and the vision behind Neev.

The essence of a culture is often best reflected in its festivals. This was evident during the mesmerizing performance by the Grade IV students, who led the morning assembly on the theme "Kati Bihu and its Significance."

The assembly began with a prayer, followed by an inspiring thought, a positive word, the idiom of the day, and the chanting of slokas. The audience in the hall was captivated as the students showcased their talents through dance and eloquent speeches. They also lit lamps around the tulsi plant, seeking blessings from Goddess Laxmi. One of the most remarkable moments was the lighting of the Akash Banti (sky candle), a symbol of the festival.

The Principal Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, addressed the gathering, encouraging the students to learn about the origins of each festival and to stay connected to their cultural roots. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

An international Round Square event was hosted on October 16, 2024, with our students Pratistha Dhruv Hazarika, Zaveri Tahsin, Navyaa Oja, and Piya Sahu attending alongside Teacher-in-Charge Mahua Kanungo. The theme for the event, “Global Connectivity: Building Bridges for a Sustainable Future,” encouraged participants to explore how global collaboration can drive sustainability.

The session began with a warm icebreaker, allowing each participant to introduce themselves and share their hobbies, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. As discussions progressed, the meeting seamlessly shifted to more formal topics, addressing critical global issues. Conversations covered a wide range of themes, from the pivotal role of youth in advancing sustainable development to the need for improved healthcare facilities aligned with sustainability goals.

The session was both engaging and informative, with diverse perspectives offered by participants from various countries and backgrounds. This vibrant exchange of ideas made for a dynamic dialogue on the pressing challenges facing our world today, providing valuable insights and fostering meaningful connections among attendees.

Our Grade VIII A students organized a captivating assembly on "Incredible India – Land of Festivals." The event showcased the vibrant diversity of India's cultures through traditional attire and performances.

From graceful suits and lehengas to ethnic dhotis and colorful turbans, students represented different regions of India. The assembly began with a prayer and a thought of the day, followed by a speech highlighting the significance of various Indian festivals.

A breathtaking dance performance showcased the rich cultural heritage of North, West, South, and East India. The Principal and Director praised the students for their efforts in organizing such a beautiful event. They emphasized the importance of understanding and appreciating India's cultural diversity.

The assembly concluded with the National Anthem, filling the air with pride and unity. It was a true celebration of India's incredible cultural heritage.

Royal Global School Guwahati celebrated The World Teachers' Day on 5th October. The program started with a violin recital which captivated everyone. This was followed by a melodious song sung by the talented students of the school.

In a heartwarming gesture Director, Royal Global School Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay awarded a letter of appreciation to all the faculty members. In his address he extended his heartfelt gratitude to the teacher fraternity and congratulated them for taking up noble profession as a teacher which is not easy. Principal Dr. Dillip Panda expressed his thankfulness to the teachers for their relentless effort in shaping the future of the students. Vice Principal Ms. Binita Jain strongly appreciated the teachers for balancing their work ethics and their personal life and thanked everyone for such a great job.

On the 4th and 5th of October, Royal Global School hosted the AFS Regional Meet, centered on the theme of ‘Culture and Sustainability: United for a Better World.’ The event saw participation from schools across the region, including Maria’s Public School (Guwahati), Royal Global School (Guwahati), Hollotoli School (Dimapur), N N Nagi School (Dimapur), Delhi Public School (Jorhat), Lakshmipat Singhania Academy (Kolkata), SAI International Residential School (Cuttack), and Miles Bronson Residential School (Guwahati). The meet was designed to foster connections among participants while promoting a collaborative and positive atmosphere.

The program opened with a warm welcome speech by the Principal, Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, who expressed his gratitude for the schools' participation and emphasized the importance of integrating culture and sustainability in today’s world. He also highlighted the event's purpose as an opportunity for building relationships and effective collaboration. This was followed by an engaging ice-breaking session led by Ms. Mandakini Dasgupta. The day concluded with a delightful Principal’s dinner, providing further opportunities for interaction.

On the second day, the students and their principals visited the Akshar Foundation, a school known for its sustainability-based education model. Upon their return, they gathered at the Colosseum for the official inauguration ceremony, which commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the felicitation of guests. The Vice Principal, Ms. Binita Jain, extended a heartfelt welcome through her speech, followed by a vibrant song and dance performance. The keynote speaker, Mr. Rituraj Phukan, delivered an insightful address on climate change, sustainable actions, and their future impact.

Students later participated in breakout sessions to discuss key topics related to the theme. Ms. Diya Badgel also addressed the group, outlining the operating procedures and work culture of the AFS team. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, followed by the distribution of gifts to the participating students. The meet was a resounding success, blending formal and informal activities that celebrated student collaboration and leadership.

On October 4th, Royal Global School proudly inaugurated its annual Mathvision 2024, an intra-school mathematics exhibition celebrating creativity and innovation in the subject. The event was graced by the presence of Chairman Dr. Ashok Kumar Pansari and Vice-Chairman Mr. Anil Kumar Modi, along with the Director, Dr. Arup Mukhopadhyay and Principal Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, who officially opened Mathvision 2024 with inspiring words on the importance of mathematics in everyday life and its role in shaping young minds. The exhibition showcased a diverse range of student projects, highlighting their understanding of mathematical concepts through practical applications. Among the impressive exhibits were: Vedic Mathematics and its Applications, Mathematics in Nature, Mathematics in Real Life, Mathematical Instruments, Integration of Mathematics with Art, Yoga, Astrology, Mathematics and Architecture, Mathematics and AI, Factual Mathematics, and Fun with Mathematics. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and curiosity as students proudly explained their projects to visitors. Mathvision 2024 not only demonstrated the students' hard work but also fostered a love for mathematics within the school community. It was a memorable day, reinforcing the idea that math is not just about numbers but a gateway to understanding the world around us.

Royal Global School commemorated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm and reverence today. The school premises buzzed with energy as students and teachers gathered to honor the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

The event began with the garlanding of Mahatma Gandhi's statue, beautifully adorned with vibrant flowers. Siddhant Sen Deka, Vice Captain of Gandhi House, anchored the program and delivered a thoughtful speech on Gandhi’s life, principles, and philosophy. Toshai Syiem of Grade XI also spoke about the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The audience was captivated by a mesmerizing violin recital by Sayantana Saikia, followed by the teachers' heartfelt rendition of patriotic bhajans, which created a tranquil and reflective atmosphere. Vice Principal Binita Jain then led an enlightening session on the significance of the Bhajan "Vaishnav Jan To," accompanied by the soulful vocals of Susanta Chowdhury. Principal Dr. Dillip Kr. Panda further inspired the gathering with a speech highlighting the contributions of both Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri to India's freedom struggle. The celebration concluded with a warm vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Karabi Das, House Mistress of Gandhi House.
